You haven’t heard about this from the mainstream media, and Sabres President Ted Black bristled when I asked him about it at last night’s Sabres New Media Summit, but I have it on very good authority that Tyler Myers underwent knee surgery at a local medical facility on May 23rd.
The Sabres star defenseman was hampered for most or all of this past season by a lingering knee problem that felt worse in some games than others.
Myers was told following the surgery that the source of the discomfort was found and cleaned up.
There’s no reason to believe that this amounted to more than a minor procedure, and it’s anticipated that Myers will be 100% ready to go for training camp.
And so the injury talk for 2012-13 begins......

Here's to hoping Myers breaks out in a big, big way next year.

Ditto to the above. Let's hope Myers stays clear of injuries and bounces back in a big way this year. If we can get our Tylers to stay healthy next year, we're already a better team than last, imo, even if we make zero trades in the off-season.

Myers looked A LOT slower?
A LOT slower is Andreychuk speed ...
Yea, Myers looked A LOT slower
To me, Myers looked his normal speed for some games, and slightly slower in others
Let's not exaggerate
... Minor surgery .... So prepare the negative comments early when he doesn't look like a rocket on skates in October

EXAMPLE:
Myers top speed : 100MPH
Myers looks a lot slower at 75MPH
Andreychuk top speed : 25MPH

Get him fixed, get him back to working on his explosiveness and power, start fresh again in the new season.

This post is just strange. Myers looked much slower pretty much all season. I thought that was consensus around here.

I thought Myers was slower due to the muscle he put on. He hasn't looked anywhere close to as good as he did his rookie year.

Agreed. I don't think he's been bad by any means. But he certainly hasn't taken any noteable steps forward since 09/10.

If this is true why are they trying to keep it secret?

Nice, way to mock another persons post.
by the way slow is a relative term, in the posters eyes Myers could look a lot slower but still be faster then Andreychuk.
As for minor surgery they say there is no such thing.
