And btw, it's not like Ribeiro is done after a year. Depending on how far you go in the playoffs, I could see him resigning there in hopes of a cup. And his style of play isn't really one that degrades quickly with age.
He's the only poster I've ever seen use that nickname for Johansson. I'm sure it is confusing to any person outside the Caps' fanbase and probably many that follow the Caps as well.

Mackan is the common nickname in Sweden for Marcus.

Not interested in Perreault and we're not trading Fiddler.
I'd do Ribiero for 11th +

That's ridiculous overpayment for one year of Ribs. As a Stars I'd that run.

as real life as your friends trading your belongings to the neighbor for some of his stuff without you having a say in the transactions.

Count me in the "confused" Caps fan camp. Never heard it. I'm not of the hipster type of Caps fans.

As for Ribs for Mojo...pass. I still believe in Mojo a bunch and I see his FO% going up like 20 points when we name Oates coach.

So it looks like Eakin is an acceptable piece here.

What about Kundratek as a second piece? He played some NHL games as a PMD last season and didn't look out of place at all. Probably has 2nd pair upside.

I'm not into moving Orlov for any reason.

We don't really need defensemen.

Eakin + 16th?

I would love Kundratek in our system. Makes Robidas expendable sooner. I'd say Kundratek and Eakin hold about the same value, so pick one + 16th.

Am I the only Caps fan here who read about him after he was drafted? All those introduction articles brought up the nickname.

I suppose you don't even know who Bubbles is, either?

As for Ribiero...

The Caps fans here have a standing offer with Sharks fans that both sides are cool with of Johansson + 16th for Pavelski. Pavs is coming off a 31-30 season, is five years younger than Ribs, and has an extra year on his contract with a 1M smaller cap hit. For me to be interested in Ribiero, the Stars would have to accept less than that. Something like taking Eakin or Galiev instead of Mack... er... Johansson or Boston's 2nd instead of the 16th.

Both sides seem fine with Eakin/Kundratek (I'd prefer Eakin) + 16th.

And again, it's not like Ribeiro is guaranteed to be a rental.

Johannson and the 11th should be enough value for a 32yr old with only one year left on his contract. Wouldn't mind kicking in something like Boston's 2nd round pick and the Caps 5th or instead of the extra picks add Eakin, to really close the deal.

Caps have to fill that second line spot and Ribeiro would do so perfectly.
In my defense, this is what I was replying to. Maybe this is the Caps version of ScubaSteve, but it was late and I was tired.

Yeah, I'd do that. I'd take that over the Pavelski deal too, especially if we can resign Semin. Ribeiro would be better suited to setting him up.

If we've already allocated the 16th to SJ, would you be ok with the COL/BOS 2nd (from Varlamov trade ) and another conditional 2nd in 2014 (Ribeiro plays 60 games for WSH in 2013-2014)?

Edit: Never mind. If your priority is NHL ready talent, 2014 is too far deferred.

I also prefer this one to the Pavelski deal if it comes to it, though I prefer Pavelski as a player/contract combo.

Definitely prefer Eakin + 16th for Ribeiro to Johansson + 16th for Pavelski. Keeping Johansson around means there's one less hole to fill on the NHL roster and much better depth in case of top 6 injury.

Kundratek + 16th, conditional 3rd if he resigns?

I still kind of prefer the Chicago offer, though.

Bolland + Pirri + 2nd rounder

and I think if we were to add in Bachman (I don't want to, though) we could get the 2nd to 18th.

Not that the Washington offer is bad, just that I'd prefer Chicago's.
