The draft is the priority... so its about that time to start the draft day trade rumors involving Dubinsky.
It's not an expense, it's something we should do anyway. That $4 mil can be used in much better ways, especially next offseason when we can use every last dollar to re-sign our RFAs.

This has nothing to do with the conversation but didn't LA try to sign Brad Richards? And didn't they make that trade for Mike Richards after they didn't get Brad? I'm not sure what lead to that trade but i wonder if they would have won the cup with Brad.

No they traded for Mike and then they still wanted Brad.

They would have had:
Mike Richards
Brad Richards
Brad Richardson

Chaos.

I think they traded for Mike first, then tried to sign Brad as well.

They would've also brought Luke Richardson, Barry Richter and Mike Richter out of retirement, fired Terry Murray and promoted Columbus' then-assistant to head coach.

Richards-Richards-Richardson
Richardson-Richter
Richter

Coach-Richards

Edit: What makes this post so special is that none of those players are related.

I just hope Sather doesn't pull the whole "Gaborik will be our deadline day pick up" BS line. Even with Gabby back we need more scoring.

Zach Parise can’t see himself playing for NY Rangers, only sees himself wearing Devils uniform

Never thought he was a realistic option anyway.

For either side.

if you read the quote from parise i think he just never wanted to talk about anything, even if he wanted to sign with rangers what is he going to say "yes", of course hes going to shot down any rumors

doesn't mean he won't sign with rangers, he would of said the same thing of any team at this point

He said it three times according to Andrew Gross (check the latest entry in Ranger Rants). And while I'm sure the Rangers will still present an offer, I don't think Parise is being coy or trying to drive up the price. I honestly think he really doesn't want to come here.

The last person I remember saying something three times in succession was St. Peter. You all know how that one turned out.

I would be stunned if he signed with the Rangers, and I would be almost as stunned if he signed with the Wild. Detroit is my #1 pick.

Not trying to toot my own horn but I have a decently close connection to Parise. The information I have is also outdated so take it for what it's worth.

yes but he will not say anything, even if he did want to sign with rangers he won't come out and say it, imo he would of said the same thing about any team at this point

anyways if true he's a idiot, why wouldn't you atleast consider, it suits him perfect

-close to his home
-has alot of friends and coached he has played for on the team
-legit stanley cup contender especially if he signs long term
-chance to play with richards on top line, lots of ice time
-original six team with legendary arena
-ranger have the cap space for a big contract

there are not many better options out there, maybe the kings but thats alot of travel and moving right across the country
