This is the problem when a team allows people to buy more than the season tickets they have. I'm not faulting legitimate fans for getting 4 even if they have 1 or 2 season tickets. But the ticket brokers buy tons of season tickets and thus they could load up on tickets.
What they should have done is what all the sports teams around here do and limit season ticket holders to their seats only. I realize it stinks for the average season ticket holder (who might split their 2 season tickets with a couple buddies and thus would want 4), but for the brokers it would stop them from turning their 10 seats into 40 tickets.
It would overwhelm the poor people who work at the box office, but the other idea is that tickets could have only been available in person from the box office at Staples Center. Looking at the EBay auctions none of them are located in the LA area, most seem to be in Virginia (I'm guessing something to do with lax scalping laws I bet). I just hope they let TV cameras (I'm looking at you KTLA) into the rally and broadcast it on TV. I have my PVR set to tape 5 hours on Thursday.
I assume NBC, FOX and CBS are showing it as well. I'm going to assume Fox Sports West will too. If someone could PVR their coverage and post it on Youtube that would be awesome. That way even if KTLA quits showing things after the parade I'll still be able to see it. I hope the Cup BluRay has the entire parade and rally on it as a bonus feature.
I want to email all the Craigslist postings and tell them i will pay a couple hundred dollars and will meet them tomorrow after work or thursday morning, then just not show up in the hopes that they end up not being able to sell them.
sorry about how the rally is panning out, but I hope people can share some pics of the parade. -been really enjoying all the pics people have been posting. It makes those from a distance get a little feel of the experience there!
Well tried again a little after 6pm and nadda, all other STH and VIP sales are over so you don't need, in fact CAN'T input anymore codes it's free-for-all open to the public to try and get one via TicketMaster, and I couldn't even get a single anywhere anymore.
I hope one of the three that told me they got one or two can help and come through, If I get 2, I only need 1 and will give someone here the other ... so ? wait and see
It really sucks that the rally isn't open to public for free. I mean, this is the first time I've ever seen something like this.
Why no like open-air rally?
I would guess because the LA Live plaza is waaaay too small and the Coliseum is a dump. The only other place this could maybe happen would be Dodger Stadium (and there's no way to have a parade that "ends" at Dodger Stadium) or ....???
At least at Staples, you can get 19 - 20,000 in there (I assume they'll put some folks on the floor / ice)
If the Mayor shows up and does a presentation, it will be fun to hear him try to pronounce Doty and Kopidor.
What time are people heading to staples? My wife and I fly into LAX around 8 am. Will it take more than an hour to get to staples from LAX? Any kind of HF boards meeting planned?
I assume being in la live for the end of the parade would be best? I hope they let SLR cameras into staples for the rally.
Coming from Dallas with my dad as well!
ANYONE have 2 tickets, I know many have been asking around as well but if anyone has a few spare ones or can't make it then please PM me! Willing to pay for some! Thanks.
