Im fine with this deal, Moore is a solid guy and has done well here but at the same time he is not a crucial piece and to get a 2nd rounder is not bad.

Figured Moore would be dealt, although didnt think it would be until closer to the deadline. I'm damn happy with the return! I liked Dom while he was here but I believe his play dropped off a bit from last season/playoffs. Either way, in our position you cant turn down a 2nd round pick, one that could between the 35th - 45th overall range, especially. In Yzerman we trust.
That's 3 second rounders. 4 picks in the top 60 is pretty good.
Sad to see Moore go. A 3rd line center is replaceable but he was a great fit here. A 2nd rounder is what he's been traded for in the past so it is good value. Hopefully something will be done to fix that 3rd line this offseason.
Connolly should get more minutes now too.
I would be absolutely thrilled with a 3rd line of Ashton-Gaustad-Moss if there are no internal options that make more sense. Moss adds some scoring, size and grit to the 3rd line, while Gaustad would be another veteran presence who displays great leadership, is a good penalty killer, great on face-offs and has very good size and an aggressive nature that we seem to be lacking in our bottom 6.
Wasn't sure where to post this - didn't see it on any of the current threads. Thought you folks would want to know what Dominic Moore's wife Katie and their family are dealing with right now.
Towards the end of the 2011-12 season, my wife, Katie, began feeling ill. We visited with local doctors, who suggested running a variety of tests to ascertain the cause of the issue. Ultimately, Katie was diagnosed with a rare liver cancer and it was recommended that she undergo surgery, which took place in California in April.
Hope everything turns out ok and that she can beat this!
That sucks to hear, hope she is ok and they caught it soon enough. Most likely means she'll be staying out west for follow ups and further tests. I don't think he'll be coming back our way now.
I find it hilarious that most of the players are current or former (in the last year) members of the Lightning. This must have been something they were planning on doing over the season before the trade.
I would like to see the bolts bring Moore back. He fit the team, and he fills that 3rd line spot really well.
