I'm sorry I ever doubted you Carter. Can't believe what I saw last night. Best night ever. Feels like this is going to last all summer.

I know the reason for that as well...

My girlfriend at the time was working in the permits office and the Ucks came in two hours too late to get their choice of parade route... Fitting that they had to contend with a gay rights march that day... More fitting was that their Plan B sucked to a nuclear level...

I went to cash in my $20 sports bet ticket and almost fainted... I thought it was for 35-1... It was at 55-1... $1100 bucks on something I won for just cashing a paycheck at that casino before the draft last June... This is just nothing you can sneeze at...

Congratulations to the Kings organizaiton and their fans. One of the more dominant postseasons I've ever seen in hockey. The Kings mowed down each opponent with ease. Enjoy your celebration! You guys deserved it.

Congrats.

I got 15-1 in late March.

Going to make a copy of that ticket and frame it.

I dont see how people could blame the guys for blowing off some steam after the series. They have nothing to be ashamed about, they put on a hell of a run.

So cheating on your wife is akin to blowing off steam to you? Yikes.

I see, I must have missed that video. I just saw a bunch of guys getting into limos and cars and Larsson smoking a cigarette with a girl, then I decided I had enough. Who are these D Bag photographers anyways and when did TMZ start covering hockey?

I was responding to the people you mentioned on the Jersey board who were upset with players being out after a loss. TMZ as well, they couldnt seem to understand why guys would be out after losing a series and in suits too!

You missed the good ones....Zubrus is in a car with a blonde, camera rolls up he pulls the "Who are you? I don't know you...." and basically runs out of the cab down the street.

These guys should realize that they are in LA. Easy for an outfit like TMZ to follow them from Staples Center to wherever they ended up.

Thought you guys might like to read this (From an OHL Insider email I receive):

Richards adds to Championship Resume

By Paul Krotz/OHL

Quote:
The celebration that filled the Staples Centre ice when the Los Angeles Kings were crowned Stanley Cup Champions was his first in the NHL, but Mike Richards has delivered championship performances throughout his career.

“He’s won an OHL title, Memorial Cup, World Junior Gold, Calder Cup, Olympic Gold, and now a Stanley Cup,” said Kitchener Rangers General Manager and Head Coach Steve Spott. “The guy’s a winner.”

Richards was chosen fourth overall in the 2001 OHL Priority Selection, one spot behind Kings teammate and close friend Jeff Carter. His skill and determination helped lead the Rangers to an OHL title and MasterCard Memorial Cup Championship in 2003 before being selected by the Philadelphia Flyers with the 24th overall pick of the entry draft that June.

“I can still remember when Pete DeBoer and I were first watching our first round pick in training camp,” Spott said. “We noticed that he is not a real big guy and not very quick, but when the scrimmages began he was easily the most competitive guy on the ice.”

Richards served as the Rangers captain for two more seasons following their championship titles and also captained Canada to the first of five straight World Junior gold medals in 2005. When the Rangers were eliminated from the playoffs that year, Richards joined Flyers affiliate the Philadelphia Phantoms producing 15 points in their final 14 games to win an American Hockey League title.

During the 2011-12 NHL Playoffs Richards netted 15 points in 20 games to help the Kings capture their first Stanley Cup title in franchise history with an impressive 10 OHL graduates on the roster.

“This is amazing,” Richards told the Toronto Sun after the final. “It was a frustrating year, a lot of ups and downs, a lot of highs and lows, but this is the best experience I’ve ever been a part of. I love this team. The camaraderie we have, it was just awesome. I’m just so happy for everyone.”

At just 27-years-old, the native of Kenora, ON, has a championship resume that is one of a kind and rivals that of fellow 2010 Olympic gold medalist Scott Niedermayer who may not have captured a Calder Cup during his professional career but was part of a Canadian gold medal World Championship team.

“For Mike it’s always been about the team,” Spott said. “He just has a passion for the game, and when the games are big you know he’s going to be there.”

Great read, thanks for sharing that..
You know, it's a year next week when he got traded to LA and that day onNHL LIvethey interviewed Lombardi and he said that 'the kids a winner, pure and simple' and in subsequent interviews has pointed out that winning resume is one of the reasons when Holmgren called, it wasn't a matter of yes or no, but who would go. Robataille mentions it almost everytime he's asked, as does Hexy, so it was something that was important to them.

Since 2008, Richie has helped lead teams to 3 conference finals and 2 Cup finals. ou add that to is quintet of championships and he's only 27..that says alot about that champions spirit he has. DeBoer was right- what Richards has , you can't learn orteach, you are born to it.
Thanks again, good read

In Richards' first year of junior, his coach challenged him to do one thing to help the team every shift - whether it's a goal, a hit, a pass, a good defensive play -- just something to help the team win, every shift. Richards took it to heart and applied it to his game from that day forward.

Bet Deboer wishes he had said something different...

You know guys, I have absolutely no ill will towards your team at all. Your team is poised to a great one for years to come. Good luck with it all!

For you long suffering Kings fans that have waited forever for this moment, congratulations! Cherish every second of it. Have the summer of your life.

Once again, congrats!

Been away from the boards for a week and a bit for a variety of reasons, but I was watching when we won game six. I remember laughing when our powerplay, which at times appeared to be redy to be fitted for a toe tag during the season and playoffs, blew up for three goals on the 5 minute powerplay. I'm sure if the camera had panned over to Kompon, he'd have been giving the neener neener to some fans or something.

I kind of thought a close, last minute victory would have been best but in hindsight, a win which was sealed away early on was likely better. The fans were going crazy, I could tell that on TV, and when we netted the empty-net goal it was like wscoring the cup clinching goal in overtime. At that point, you just knew.

My wife is baking me a cake with a Stanley Cup and a Kings logo on it to celebrate. She said she would if the Kings won the cup, and they did so it'll be like my own little slice of heaven I suppose. Cake will never taste so sweet.

As a 24 year Kings fan, this is so unbelieveably fantastic, I'm still on cloud nine. We are the cup champions. I feel like I need to repeat that over and over and over again. Maybe then it'll sink in.

For all of my fellow Kings fans, enjoy this moment. For all of the fellow long-time Kings fans, enjoy it even more. We won't be Cubs fans!
