I'll be at camp today. I'll have some live bits via Twitter (@DailyCanadiens), and then I'll post a link to my report on my site http://www.YourCanadiens.info/ (HF partner).

I'll be going every day through Saturday and will be happy to share my thoughts.

His skating, stickhandling and passing,he has been played at center in his freshman year on the 1st &2nd lines and the PP with Kristo on a good North Dakota team.He will be getting more ice-time with Brock Nelson's signing with NYIers.Plus the extra work he's done getting his weight up to 183 lbs from 165lbs when drafted shows his work ethic as well.Montreal and TT have a good one there.

MacMillan is one of the prospects that I am excited about, especially now that he has started to beef up a bit..He was a tall, lanky kid when we drafted him. With another couple years at North Dakota, he could turn out to be a steal.

You are correct, and the person you responded to is incorrect. Not all slavic languages use the Cyrillic alphabet, which he is referring to. For example, Polish, in which y plays roughly the role that it does in English.

Swedish uses a modified latin script which, along with the extra characters: ä å ö, also has different sounds for a number of the letters, for example, u sounds much more accute than its english counterpart, and o on its own sounds like a double-o dipthong in english.

Y in swedish can take on two different sounds: a u sound, and an "ee" sound, which is decided upon based on the letters around it. A quick google, as it's been some time since I decided that I didn't want to learn swedish just yet after all, turned up a couple examples of this dichotomy: mycket(very, pronounced as Mu-ckeh) vs tyska(German, pronounced as Tiska). There are specific rules for when to pronounce y as whatever, but I'm too lazy to look them up.

Did he mean literally? Cause Sullivan wasn't on the ice today. Nor were Morgan Ellis (minor injury) and Dustin Walsh (don't know why).

Hope you guys enjoyed some of the Tweets today. Short session, just basic drills, so full report and more Tweets coming tomorrow instead after getting a better look.

Yes in Boston, some scout camp said he came on ice took one shot ( "his quote it was filthy" ) and then skated off and got a full ride to Avon Old Farms. Obviously they were looking at him for awhile when I see him again Ill ask him some more about him.

There was confirmation of things we already knew:

Daniel Pribyl and Alexander Avtsin are magicians with the puck.
Danny Kristo has explosive acceleration.
Nathan Beaulieu is very smooth.
Brendan Gallagher‘s switch goes ‘ON’ the moment his skates touch the ice.

And there were a few initial impressions that we will keep our eyes on:

Patrick Holland may be a better skater than advertised.
Darren Dietz looks much more confident this year.
Aaron Dell turned heads with his goaltending at least year’s camp but may be challenged this year by Brandon Maxwell.
Cody Reichard looked competent in goal with a good glove hand despite his try-out status.
If this team had a captain, it would be Jarred Tinordi, hands down. Solid leadership qualities.

The only thing that bothers me is that people are still criticizing Beaulieu's backwards skating.

From your perspective, does it look like Leblanc gained some weight/muscle? A stronger Leblanc would be flirting with beast mode imo.

Btw, thanks for the links and reports. I especially liked "..; Daniel Pribyl and Alexander Avtsin are magicians with the puck..." - I really think that Pribyl may turn out to be another late round steal by Timmins.

Regarding Holland's speed ("... Patrick Holland may be a better skater than advertised...") I think he was voted, by his peers, one of the better skaters last season. If I remember correctly they also named him in the best two ways forward and hardest shot departments. Apparently, Gauthier had some bright moments!

MacMillan, Avtsin, Pribyl and Quailer.

Will all 4 of you develop into offensive players?

Thx

He just turned 21...not that I think he'll amount to something great but at least give him the 2 remaining years on his entry level deal before suggesting his time is running out.

Doesn't he only have one year left on his ELC?

edit: nope, apparently his first season slid.

So Kristo supposedly still looks tiny. Great. Good thing all that time in the NCAA is paying off!
