Because it happens in real life as well? Just a thought.
Can't count how many times I've been to an NHL game be it home or away on a road trip and saw someone wearing a sweater for a team not involved in the game being played.
Often times it's for a player that used to play for the team on the sweater but now plays on one of the teams in the game, but often times it's just some random player with nothing to do with either team.
Its even more random when you see guys wearing Led Zeppelin and Iron Maiden t-shirts when the gig is all about AC/DC...
I had a dream last night that Wild traded Sheppard back. I can't recall what we gave to Sharks but it was something like a goalie prospect. Also Genoway was our number 1 defender. Confusing times.

And I thought our defense couldn't possibly get any worse...
BTW; as much as we like to rip into Sheppard, this wasn't completely his fault. I blame Lemaire and DR as much as Sheppard for his complete and utter failure as a hockey player.

I blame DR more than Lemaire. He was the one who refused to shop for centers even when JL practically asked for more centermen during one of his press conferences. He voiced his concerns, but did the GM listen? Nope. DR said, "work with what you have." So JL had to throw whoever he could on the faceoff dot.
I also blame the maker of Shep's ATV. And the driver of the vehicle that ran him off the road.

To be fair, I don't think Lemaire is that great of a rookie coach. He's not as bad as Hitchcock but he's also not a great developer of talent when it comes to rookies.
Lemaire is a guy who will try and win as well as he can with what he's got on the roster. If that means putting a rookie who he feels is not ready for the NHL on the 4th line, so be it. If that means a passive 1-2-2, he'll do it. He opened up a bit more with NJ last time around because he had some talent for once. And he did put Pouliot between Gabby and Demo in preseason.
DR just would not work with him like he should have. That was the big problem. Lemaire clearly didn't want Sheppard or Gillies up with the team, but DR couldn't sign any decent free agents and tried to push them up early to generate excitement.

I forget is this a thread from 2008? Ah good times, i know you guys miss him.
Maybe goes to the most recent top ten pick to get an NHL roster spot yet gets the fewest games played without injury involved... Unless of course it's a knee injury due to an atv accident!
Maybe have the Giant piece of popcorn on top off a smaller atv?
