I don't think its enough and I would hope Boston would beat it. Weber Chara combo would be money.

I do it in a heartbeat but only if he signs a long term deal.

This I would do.

What if Vancouver just makes the first non-conditional?

I was very clear in the OP.

This was based around weber not willing to sign. (i agree he very well might happily stay)

What would you want for him? remember he is an extended rental not a signed commodity.

Edler is a damn good player and a 1st is a valuable asset.

What would nashville be expecting back?

Its not like i offered ballard and raymond. I offered a legit top 4 now with top pairing potential for your pending ufa that might have mentaly packed his bags.
As they should have. How did that first round exit go down for you this year? With such a great asset team you would think you could do better than bragging about beating the Nashville Predators and 1st round exit this year from the playoffs. If i wanted a bunch of divers, crybabys, and floppers i would go to the local YMCA swimming pool and get one for cheaper.

The only question is why would Edler want to stick around in Nashville if Weber won't? Doesn't this deal just leave Nashville with a lesser defenceman for a year and then put them in the exact same spot of trying to sign a defenceman who doesn't necessarily want to be there.

How did anyone do against LA this year? Or Boston Last year Or Chicago the year before.. Atleast we lose to great teams..

Before you start slinging mud make sure your house is in order.. how many high profile homegrown talents have left van to play for a "winner"... Compare that too how many have signed home town discounts to play here..

We see after sutter and weber have signed.. and where it is

Also how many playoff rounds have Nashville won in the last few seasons or ever.. for that matter wanna compare those numbers??

Cheers,

From Canucks perspective, I don't really see the point of trading Edler for Weber. Sure the right side looks superb after the deal but left side is at the same place as the right was before the deal, so you're not achieving a whole lot by doing that deal (including the fact that you'd have to give your best prospects/picks away and higher salary to Weber aswell). I don't see much sense in it to be honest even if Weber is the best defenseman in the league.
