I was thinking of this trade proposal in which this might help out both teams. Feel free to scorch away.
To Philadelphia: Bobby Ryan, Luca Sbisa, Peter Holland
To Anaheim: James Van Riemsdyk, Jakub Voracek, Sergei Bobrovsky and the rights to Matt Carle
Anaheim still keeps a top line intact which will include Corey Perry / Ryan Getzlaf / Kyle Palmieri and a new second line with Van Reimsdyk and Voracek flanking the wings. As well, the Ducks get a young goaltender that can be groomed for the starter role and the rights to Matt Carle, who had played good hockey on the west coast with San Jose in his rookie year.
As for the Flyers, they get a potentially elite winger in Ryan who can be partnered with Giroux for the long haul. As well, they get a good young defenseman back who is familiar with the Flyers organization and is on the path to developing into a great top four defender. Finally, the Flyers get a good young player to start grooming around in Peter Holland.

Although I would love JVR, the Ducks have no reason to deal any of the three players involved. Also, they have no need for Bob or Carle (who is reportedly set to sign a 4 or 5 year extension with Philly).
Luca is turning into a solid dman and Holland is the second line center of the future. Although Voracek would be of use in Anaheim right now, they can't deal the guys involved in this proposal.
If Anaheim were to make a deal with Philly, it would be around Palmieri and a first for JVR. We're trying to set up a line for Bobby to play on. The goal for the Ducks would be to be able to play JVR and Bobby on the same line.
Lol you aren't getting Cooter unless Perry is packing his bags. Schenn maybe.
Thats fine because I'll stick with Bobby Sbisa and Holland. You guys started this horrible proposal and said "flame away" in the OP. Thats always a sign of good things to come.
Lol seriously. How the hell does this help Anaheim? They downgrade at wing lose the only solid center prospect we have (on a team that is dire need of a center) and lose a young stud defenseman for what again?
No because Philly is resigning Carle. Plus I wouldn't call him a legit number 2. He's boarderline 2/3
I wish posters would read all the posts. A lot is explained above and why the Ducks wouldn't deal Sbisa or Holland and why Carle would be of no use, since he isn't going to be traded

Flame away.
Too many pieces, and this deal actually fails to address the need of either team.
Flyers don't need another center, and Anaheim does, so start by dropping Holland.
We are about to resign Carle, so trading him makes little sense. Leave him out.
Bobrovsky holds no value to Anaheim.
Sbisa is an important part of their core going forward, and would take a lot to pry away.
Ryan
2012 1st (6th) [one of Dumba / Murray should be there]
I considered adding someone like Mezsaros (and a prospect from Anaheim), but that seemed too complicated. The restructured deal seems one piece light from Philadelphia's end. Thoughts?

It's closer, but the Ducks would rather keep Bobby and get JVR. If Philly dropped Schenn and the Ducks replaced Bobby with Palmieri, I feel like the Ducks would be in. I know Philly wants Bobby so they can add another serious scorer, but the Ducks would be more hesitant to lose Bobby.

So JVR + 20th for Palmieri + 6th?
The value is probably fair, but the Flyers likely pass. The goal, I think, is to get a real first-line winger to go with Giroux. JVR is closer to that than Palmieri--though this would allow the Flyers to pick up a top-end defensive prospect.
