Probably one of the better PK guys in the league.

Wouldnt mind having him back in STL. Im hoping we acquire someone who can score more points, but he is a fantastic defensive forward who can chip in 20-30 points.

He's a guy who should end up overpaid. You've got at least 2 teams (Chicago and Toronto) with just godawful special teams who have talked about upgrading, and you've got a UFA who averages over 3 minutes per game of PK time. All signs point to bidding war.

I wouldn't offer more than 2mil for 2-3years. Good guy but how much more does he want from 1.45mil? That's the main factor.

I'd love him on the Flames. Although we probably don't have room for him.

2.5-3 from the Avs, 3+ on the market.

I'd take him back at 2.5, he's worth more because he freed O'Reilly up to be more than a defensive forward.

Wouldn't mind him on the Canucks if Pahlsson retires or Malholtra can't get back in shape.

Really great defensively and seems like a moneypuck signing.

Jay is gonna get paid lol. He's good and I love the guy, but you shouldn't pay 4th liners what he is about to get.

Does it really matter if you have the space though?

Please get him, Montreal.

I think every team in the league will be gunning for this guy. Add in the fact that this year's crop of UFAs suck and it'll be a pay day for him.

If you just want to be screwed in the future, sure why not. Or it just means you don't have much talent in the top 6 or on defense. McClement isn't anything more than a 4th liner who can get 20-25 points. Good, but not great faceoff guy at 51.3%. He does play really good defense and is good in the locker room, but that isn't worth more than 2 million.

I'm sure there are 15 teams realistically that would make competitive offers. His price is going to go up.

If the Isles are able to unload Reasoner, I wouldn't mind them throwing Jay a 3 year deal worth $6 million. I don't think I'd go above that but some other team will.

A pretty reliable poster on the Avs board said McClement was offered 3 years, $7.5 million ($2.5M cap hit) but wanted 4 years, $12 million ($3M cap hit).

Most Avs fans would have been fine with $2.5M even though we know that's a bit of an overpayment but $3M/yr over 4 years for a 4th line defensive center is way too much.

Still hoping they can work something though.

He'll probably get overpaid, he's better than a 4th line centre but probably doesn't provide enough offence for a 3rd line centre.
