How do we solve moving backwards defensively? Signing Suter, which we pretty much all know is not going to happen.

So who solves the problem for us? Jackman? I don't know.
I am also not sold yet on Bourdon but I am not sold on Mez now either.

I think their plan is to try and get JJ off of Columbus and put him with Carle and then let the young guys fight for the 6th spot on the team to be paired with Kimmo. Something like

Carle/JJ
Coburn/Grossmann
Kimmo/Bourdon or Gus or maybe even bring in a player like Gill

I wouldn't be upset with those D pairings.

Carle and JJ together?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Our in-zone turnover rate will be above 50%.

******* ******** ‏@***************
On the #Flyers: Looks like JJ is very tough to pry out of #CBJ so it might be only Nash to PHI. Negotiations still ongoing.

******* ******** ‏@***************
If the deal does go down, JVR is almost 100% to be involved. Like I said at trade deadline, #Flyers have been trying to move him for a while

******* ******** ‏@***************
JVR's injury has been a problem but my bet is Nash deal or not he will go before next season. #Flyers Hearing #CBJ really high on Couturier.

******* ******** ‏@***************
Another option for the #Flyers would be trading JVR in order to move up in the draft. I can confirm that they are def. trying to do that.

******* ******** ‏@***************
One last thing on #Flyers, Carle signing will be announced closer to free agency day (June 30 or July1) instead of this week. #DoneDeal tho

******* ******** ‏@***************
Will keep a close eye on #Flyers developments, so follow me and my buddy @ManayunkMike for updates! Also @D_LEED a good PHI follow!
But you don't know if they are reliable? I mean, I usually take most rumors for what they are, but if these are just a couple of teenagers sitting in their rooms I don't see what the hubub is about.

Gotta admit I only watched him play in about 20 games or so.

Don't know about they're reliability yet. Reading that guy Mike's timeline, he has tweeted about contacting and talking to agents, so he seems to have contacts at least.

I think, if Howson trades Nash for JvR, Meszaros and Bob, he needs to hire someone to start his car every morning. All 3 are big question marks.

Of course, I would be pretty thrilled if this was the price to bring in a proven power forward like Nash. He and Giroux, as others have said, would be an amazing combination, and I'd hope Voracek would get a long look as the other winger. Then again, there's a long list of individuals who could step into that slot.

Nash - Giroux - Voracek
Hartnell - Schenn - Briere
Read - Couturier - Simmonds
Wellwood - Holmstrom - Talbot
Rinaldo

That, of course, doesn't include Jagr, and I like the idea of having a more defensive-minded centre in Holmstrom. There are a whole lot of options there. It even preserves the option of moving someone else for a defenseman.

Pairing Carle and JJ would be a nightmare. Honestly, I wouldn't mind JJ on the Flyers but not paired with Carle. I like JJ, but I don't think CBJ moves him.

I'm interested in the second overall pick, but again unlikely we get that and Nash.

I don't want to move Schenn, Couts or Voracek.

Jackman is not the answer because he's going to get overpaid and then we'll have that to ***** about all season.

1. Get Nash and 2nd overall
2. Trade 2nd overall for Luke Schenn + 5th overall
3. Profit

I think I'd keep the 2nd overall and take Murray.

Getting Nash and the 2nd would probably cost us Couts.

I don't understand where this talk of JJ and 2nd overall is coming from.

JVR has a ton of potential, Meszaros can be a solid top 4 guy when he's on his game, and Bob has a lot of talent. That being said JVR has yet to actually make significant strides towards that potential and the player we all hope he turns out to be like is pretty close to... Nash. Meszaros definitely had his struggles last year and Bob is our backup goalie. Oh and JVR and Meszaros both missed significant time last year and their combined cap hits are about 500k higher than Nash's.

Say what you want about his cap hit, but doesn't a package based around those 3 seem like underpayment for Nash alone? What would it take to even sniff a Nash + JJ or Nash + 2nd? Add Read and a 1st or even more?

Only want Nash if we arent giving up Schenn or Couturier or more than one forward. I'm okay with JVR+Mez+Bob, but anything else and I wouldnt bite for Nash alone.

And I'd only consider giving up Voracek or Schenn if we're getting JJ or the 2nd overall in the deal.

If we get the 2nd overall, I'd obviously take Murray.

Only way I even consider giving up Couturier is if we get all three assets involved (Nash/JJ/2nd overall). That's not going to happen, so Couturier wont move.

Baseless twitter rumors, nothing more.

IMO, yes it does. That deal would confirm Homer having very bad pictures of Howson.

Even more. Schenn/Coots would have to be involved.
