We're your friends. We just can't go drinking or party or anything because we're not at Davis.

We could have had Hull and Chara
Would love to see how to past decade plays out with them as Sharks.

Well if we had Chara we probably wouldn't have Boyle. But just for fun a Chara-Boyle pairing would be awesome.

Summers in Davis definitely blow because of how hot it is. But it creates great evenings for patio dining at Sophia's. You also have a lot more options for food then when I used to go to Davis. I just stopped through there last week and tried that Burgers and Brew place. So damn good.

Ahhhhh now I am craving Village Bakery pizza.

You are making miss home! Grew up in Davis and did my undergrad at UCD. Now I'm all home sick.

The heat doesn't bother me. Just how dead it is, and the fact that everyone I know will be gone is going to be boring. No hockey as well.

Whether or not it will be more expensive cap hit wise will be seen. One thing about Nash is he doesn't have the knee issues. The guy will probably be able to play for ten more years easy.

With Parise it depends on how his body holds together

I have heard a rumor that the sharks could have had Pronger at the cost of Marleau and maybe some other asset

The Pronger rumors involved one of Michalek or Bernier, Matt Carle, and a 1st rounder, if memory serves. Marleau was not involved in that.

LOL, thats it? I would have done Michalek or Bernier, Carle, and a 1st any day of the week to get Pronger at the time.

As I recall the Ducks traded Joffrey Lupul, Ladislav Smid, a 1st round selection in 2007, a conditional 1st round selection (if Ducks make SCF, and they did), and a 2nd round selection in 2008.

Lupul scored 28 goals that year, Smid was a good looking prospect who hadn't proven anything in the NHL yet.

When you look at it in hindsight, its clear that the Ducks had the better offer. An additional 2nd and conditional 1st.

Hell, in hindsight, you know who we should have traded? Cheechoo striaght up. That would have worked and man we would have been a vastly different team then and today.

Wow lots of Davis people here...I went there too for my first Undergrad degree...hated the heat in summer especially because the certain large house I lived in on russell Blvd didn't have AC

Burgers and Brew was delicious though...

What if we just drafted him instead of trading down?

There's an obvious trend for high end UFAs. They always sign in the East with very few exceptions (Bouwmeester, Souray).

Also, Hamhuis and Neidiermeier, but Neids wanted to play with his brother.

And then factor in European players (who DW already has a bias against). For the sake of their families, they want to be as close as possible to Europe. San Jose is the opposite of that (of course, if Asia could crank out some NHL superstars they'd probably want to play on the west coast for similar reasons).

I live in Davis. Yes the summers here SUCK, but its quiet with school out now, and thats nice.

Burgers and Brew is one of the best burger places Ive ever been to, but there are so many other excellent places to eat now in Davis.

Paesanos, Our House, Mikunis sushi (and alot more)...
Add the Nugget grocery stores quality meats/veggies for your BBQ'ing needs.

-Its worth braving the expected 103F degree weather here this Saturday...

I remember hearing rumors of Pronger for Marleau straight up when Pronger wanted out of Edmonton. Couldn't imagine Pronger in teal.

Anybody have a list of the most expensive UFAs the Sharks have signed?

Niklas Wallin at $2.65M.

Rob Blake, I would guess.

The most expensive would be Selane... I think. Definitely the most high profile.

Selanne was traded to us from the Ducks.
