Portugal looked sharp today against the Danes. Could surprise.

Man this new chant the euros sing after every goal is pretty damn annoying.

Leave it to Spurs to screw up getting Arry to quit.

I disagree. If they are able to get Moyes he is a much better long term option than Redknapp IMO.

Spuds going belly up as soon as Harry was set as the odds on favorite for the England job and him doing nothing about it was a killer blow.

And Moyes being able to do what he has for so long at Everton has frankly amazed me.

Watching this tournament, you can't help but think there is going to be an "America's Cup" (soccer not sailing) tournament established at some point. International Soccer is soaring in popularity in the US. Can you imagine the TV ratings of a tourney featuring the Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, the USA, and so forth? I imagine something like this will come along in the near future...

As I said, Moyes would be good sure, at least on the surface. Talk about a rollercoaster few months for Redknapp. From seeming lock as the National team coach to this.

On the radio this morning, they said Harry's age and desire for a long extension played heavily into this.

On a side note, happy RDM got a 2 year extension (although there's an out after one year). I'm guessing he'll get one year and unless he impresses, Pep is coming.

If Torres continues to play like that Spain will win it.

Taking a bunch of Liverpool players is paying off for England. Great team effort by Carroll and Johnson on that Swedish goal, not even a good keeper like Joe Hart could stop them.

Chr**t that Sweden-English was so rough it was almost a hockey game. Kind of stunning that Sweden is out, considering they might have one of the superstars of the game in Ibrahimovic.

Two Liverpool players making a mistake leading to a goal does not negate the rest of their contributions. Which were substantial.

The Dutch were to this tournament what the French were to the 2010 World Cup.

When the 8th place EPL side forms the backbone of your team...

No, the 2012 Dutch side were closer to the 2008 French side. Both lost their captains after a WC final run and flopped in a Group of Death two years later. The French side in South Africa were completely beyond help that no one expected anything out of them.

No the Dutch were more disappointing now than the French were then. They were World Cup finalists just 2 years ago and only lost van Bronckhorst from that team as far as important players go. Sure he was their captain and they didn't really have a good replacement for him at left back but they were in very good shape everywhere else.

I have to question Van Marwijk's decision to play Sneijder on the left all tournament. They were crying out for someone to pull the strings in the middle every game but the two guys who could do it, he or van der Vaart were preferred elsewhere.

All and all not a single guy on that team got out of second gear all tournament and the back 4 was atrocious...

Except the French disappointment was a lot of off the pitch more so than the Dutch problems (which was just poor performance on the pitch).

The French refused to practice, had a few bust ups, basically came back in disgrace.

Sure, the Dutch played poorly, but they're not acting like babies.
