Bob Miller: NOT retiring

Considering that some people were wondering about this as the playoffs were going, if we were going to win the Cup, I think this merited a topic.

Great article, penned by him, and haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere. Take a look at the end

I hope Bob and Jim get at least one chance to flash their shiny rings in Brian Hayward's big dumb face.

Great news. I had a gut feeling he might.

Made my day to know he's coming back. Will be a sad, sad day when he retires.

We already knew this on Tuesday as he said it during the interview on KSPN 710...I think he said it after his talk with Vin Scully. He wants to go around showing the ring to all the other team's broadcasters.

It will be sad, but it will be great knowing that he had a long and successful career as one of the very best at what he does. And to cap it off, the Kings were able to get the Cup during his tenure. Now Bob can sit back, relax and call the games knowing that he was here to experience it all.

I really think we'll see his schedule cut back for a few years (ala Vin Scully) before he retires. In part because of how young this team is, and its potential to make deep runs the next few years.

Awards:
if Bob Miller were to retire, who would management want? Or, does anyone know of an mainstream popular announcer that could step in.

For me, I'd like to get someone young...Someone in their early 30s that could be here for a long time also...

He can't retire just yet. He needs to spend a season calling the Kings "The Defending Stanley Cup Champions."

What about Nick Nickson? Not in his early 30s, but a great announcer.

So happy to hear that, i was a little concerned. Also, i hope he is in the parade today... the should get to take this in as much an anyone else.

Nick Nickson will surly be next in line for Bob's job, he has a great voice and his style is very similar to bobs in that he keeps an even keel and the homerism is down to a minimum.

Nick Nickson would be a lock for Bob's spot should he want it. It would probably be Nickson with Jim Fox and then on the radio it would be someone new with Evans.

Thinking about it, Bob retiring is probably about the only thing that could make me cry. Looking forward to another year.

I think he considers retirement after next season. That would be my guess.

He would only retire from commentating if he landed a coaching job with the Kings.

It would have been ever worse if LA hadn't won a Cup, but Bob finally got his ring, you're 100% right. Hopefully we go deep next year and Bob gets to call more games.
