Tonight he'll be on the show 'Le Match'. Fans can ask him questions.
Its in french, but : Par ailleurs, l'ancien attaquant des Canadiens de Montréal a dit au quotidien «The Gazette», mercredi, qu'il aimerait bien effectuer un retour dans la Ligue nationale de hockey, plus spécifiquement avec le CH.

He was still a decent player 2 years ago but the last two were not very good.
10-11...Ottawa/Pittsburgh NHL 74 GP 16-18-34
11-12 Moscow KHL 22 GP 1-5-6
Best I would offer is an invite to camp.

I love Kovy and he was my favorite hab, but this.
Edit: Bring him as stickhandling coach, god knows this team needs it.

There's a 99% chance he's finished, but would a training camp invite hurt?

It's always the same debate when his name comes up. Some of us think there is no harm in sending a simple invitation to training camp and go from there. Not trying to figure out $$ or what line he would play on, just an invite.
Others go

Exactly.
Get there in shape, beat somebody for a spot, then you might get a contract.

Yes it would! Why in the world would the Current Habs want to invite a guy like that and infect a positive young group of players by laziness.

not to mention taking up a spot that can be better filled by a young prospect or local Quebec based player invite

This. No harm in that. And if kovy can pull 40-50 pts in a limited role at what im sure would be a reasonable contract. Why not? Most likely done for though

sign him for cheap.
Pushes a prospect down to the minors where he belongs to further his development.
If Kovy turns out to be good.. it's a real bonus.
If he turns out to be a liability.. even better.. draft pick city..
Get it done.

He'd probably be a good fit for Eller...
Bourque - Eller - Kovalev
We could do worse. We could do better...
