Gallant?

Jodoin-Groulx-Gallant-Robinson?

I see Jodoin as "the eye in the sky", being in the management booth during the games and teaching during training sessions.

For me, Carbonneau and Robinson would still be my ideal assistant coaches for this team.

Option B: Carbonneau and Daigneault

The thing that bugs me was, as Lefebvre said it yesterday: an assistant coach somewhere in the NHL would not take a similar role with another team, for respect and loyalty towards his actual team. So, Robinson in Montreal is really hypotetical.

As opposed to being both of them?

If Gallant is really the first assistant, Jodoin would definitely make sense as the second.

I'd rather have Robinson on the bench, but like I said elsewhere, I don't think he has any interest in leaving New Jersey.

He won't leave an assistant job in NJ for ANOTHER assistant job in Montreal. Would not make much sense.

Worst kept secret in Montreal.

3 assistants in place, are we getting a 4th?

Good news, a much better tactician than Therrien and Gallant. The three should compliment each other nicely.

Now it would be even better if Jodoin was left upstairs and Robinson was hired as a defense coach, but I'm pessimistic about that.

One track minds over here.

Hey, why aren't we hoping for Daryl Sutter as the last Asst. coach while we're at it? I mean, he only just won the Stanley Cup after all, I bet he'd love to drop his job to come and coach the 28th worst team in the league.

I just don't agree with the composition of the bench. Strange, that it could be so overhelming to see what's upstairs and beyond with Dudley and Co and yet so underwhelming behind the bench. Let's hope that Lefebvre hires a good assistant with him since he already has Wilson.

But for us, no d-men specialist, no younger guys à la Muller who will play the buddy role. Can't understand it.

Not sure what your point is. Nobody here had Therrien for their candidate. Some us preferred other candidates than him. AVAILABLE candidates that is. But then, hoped we would still have a good bench to work with and frankly while neither Gallant or Jodoin are bad people, I believe that only Jodoin might have been needed or at least 1 of the 2. Or at the very worst, have 3 guys behind the bench and 1 upstairs. Since that the upstairs guy will be Pierre Groulx. But there's ingredients missing, I believe. Guys that WERE available.

Jodoin, Gallant, and who's #3? Are you counting Pierre Groulx? I kind of see him off to the side.

They still have room for a D-coach, seeing that Jodoin might well be suited as an "eye-in-the sky" type.

I would like Robinson on board as much as the next guy BUT...

Why would he accept a job as assistant coach in Montreal while he is having the same responsabilities in NJ ?

We don't see too many (I can't remember of any) cases when that happens.

Right now , I am not comfortable to have no real former d-man to coach our D-Corp.

Gallant, for me, is redundant when you have a guy like Therrien.
