It's also possible they stick Jodoin upstairs for games and go with 4 guys on the staff. Which would allow for a Carbo (or whoever) to fill out the coaching staff.

IF true, I kinda expect bad blood between Therrien and Gallant at some point...

I really tought competent and proven people would be brought onboard. People like Robinson, Craig Ramsey or one of the top AHL head coach. Hell, I'd take Carbo before Gallant. At least, the Habs would have a good PP.
Jarvis ran the PP during Carbo's tenure.

Carbo could be a good assistant coach (knows the game well) but I worry about his work ethic as a coach. I've read too many reports that he wasn't willing to put in the necessary hours when he was our head coach.

It doesn't really matter how many posts you have. We're not allowed to let 'un-vetted' posters post their own personal rumours because it could turn into a real gong show. We can't do anything about it as mods

TSN is reporting this too now. Official announcement Friday.

That pic of him they have on TSN kinda looks like Michael Chiklis (from Shield and The Commish fame)...

The thing I like most about this, is that by all accounts Gallant is a players coach.

We need that, especially when you consider than Therrien is the exact opposite of a players coach.

That's what I was hoping for as well, someone to do what Muller did with the Habs. Good selection looking forward to next year already

When the most important qualification is that the coach is French speaking you are limiting the potential candidates for the job. This is the best they could do.

Good hire. He was well liked in St. John and has the experience from coaching in CBJ.

And again, we knew he very well could have been telling the truth, but we can't allow those types of posts as per the site rules, unless you've officially been confirmed as an "insider" per the mods and admins.

Can you imagine this site if every single poster could create threads with so called "inside info?"

It's also a good timing for Gallant as most of the team in SJ will be dismantled

I don't think mods should take it personal that it's being pointed out.

I doubt it's a reflection on the work you, overlords and others do. I think it's just mostly an observation. In my opinion, most lucid posters agree with the rule, and were/are surprised this rumor turned out to be true. It's an anomaly among the sea of rumors that pop out everyday, hence why it's being brought up.

This. I meant no disrespect to the mods. They do a good job. I was simply pointing out that he was right so he can get his 15 minutes of fame.

I'm happy with the Gallant hiring. I prefer him to Jodoin.
