I'm not sure, but I'd be surprised as hell if Holmgren, failing Weber and Suter, did not kick any tired in Calgary.
He's gonna be up there a while, That whole team looked exhausted by April.

Then he probably needs to be playing harder. I don't care how tough you are, if you're playing D hard, you're gonna miss some games eventually.

And yes, I'm being serious.

JBou sucks in Calgary for whatever reason, but I think he'd fit into our system. He's an unreal skater and he's solid defensively but as Mike Peca said he's ridiculously soft and easy to play against. $7mil is a lot, and while Timonen is off the books next year we'd still be ****ed this year. Getting JBou would tie up $13mil in a Bouwmeester+Timonen pairing... and that is not how you win cups.

I wouldn't give up a top-6 forward for him unless it was Matt Read and Reader's contract makes me say no even to that. Unless we can get him for underpayment and snag Calgary's first too, I'll pass.

Without even looking at their salaries, I'd be willing to bet that is over the cap even without a 13th forward and 7th defenseman. If it isn't that would be sweet, but I'm pretty sure it is.

im gonna throw a proposal out and id like you guys to be honest if its too steep or just right. phillly is my favorite team out east so id be thrilled with weber in philly if he wasn't in nashville. love hartnell and timonen.

to NSH:

courterier
vorachek
meszaros
2012 1st round pick

to PHI:

weber

Swap Schenn for Couturier and I'd probably do it, though I'm not that high on Radulov.

coots is the one guy yall would least want to trade, correct? (for good reason)

im really high on voracek so couterier isn't a must to me

In terms of organizational value, I'm pretty sure the forwards rank something like it is:

1. Giroux (the one player who is truly untouchable)

2. Couturier (close, but not quite untouchable--would require an OEL-like return)

3/4. Schenn / Voracek
5. JVR
6. Simmonds
7. Read

Briere has a NMC, so I didn't rank him. Talbot's contributions far outweigh his trade value, so I don't see him being moved either.

I'd be fine with moving Voracek for Weber but I agree that I'd rather trade Schenn that Couturier.

I would do about anything to get Weber, but that is an overpayment. That's similar to the Lindros deal, and as much as like Shea Weber, he is not a young Eric Lindros.

Ya couturier is the perfect 2nd center behind Giroux. Voracek, Meszaros and a 1st for weber? Here im guessing schenn would needed to be added but with schenn back something on the nash side would need to be added. I know nashville loves them ypung defenders and i honestly thing erik gustafsson would thriveeee on the preds

Why would anyone want anything to do Radulov? First he bolts to KHL, then comes back, then gets suspended by his team in the playoffs. Sounds like just the kind of player you want to avoid with a ten foot pole. The talent is there for sure, but it was with Zherdev too...

radulov's right could be packaged with weber.. a throw in but if it works out... him with giroux .. woah!! id take them over malkin/neal

if you guys want to keep couturier, then voracek would need to come back. as well as a center..

voracek, schenn , meszaros, 2012 1st round pick

for weber, radulov's rights, 3 round pick

I offer:

VanRiemsdyk/Voracek/Schenn
Meszaros/Simmonds/Read
1st in 2012
1st in 2013/Bobrovsky

For Weber.

Nash can pick who they want. All average out to more than we got for Richards/Carter + another 1st on top of that.

I wouldn't offer any more than that.

Shea Weber

Sign Weber for 9 years 64 million, which is a cap hit of about 7.1

Re sign Voracek for 4 years, 12 million.

Re sign 1 of Bourdon or Gustafsson.

Waive Shelley

Trade Bob to anyone for a 2nd or 3rd.

Sign a veteran backup for no more than a $1,000,000 cap hit. Maybe Biron if he doesn't re sign with NY.

Make as a big a push as you can for Parise (doubt he signs though). Re sign Jagr as a backup plan.

Sign Paul gaustad

Parise-Giroux-Voracek(Jagr of you can't sign Parise)
Hartnell-Couturier-Briere
Simmonds-Gaustad-Read
Sestito-Talbot-Wellwood

Timonen-Weber
Grossmann-Coburn
Lilja-Gustafsson/Bourdon

Bryzgalov
Biron

The prospect of losing by far my two favorite Flyers in Couturier and Voracek for two of my favorite players league-wide in Nash and Weber will undoubtedly turn me into an emotional basket case within the next couple of weeks.

If we get Weber while only giving up one of JVR, Schenn, and Voracek (and placing Couturier off limits), I'm fine with that.
