Let it be known, I changed my place of employment to return to Minnesota, so as to not have to burn vacation time to see family. Logical move for a family guy.
I would love to see Edmonton sign him, hopefully they draft Yakupov than go to Suter and show him how they are set up front and just need a stud defensemen to hold the fort on the back end.
If he signs long term, Edmonton would be one of the teams that has the brightest future for the next ten years. Not necessarily the next 2-3 but easily the next 10.
High school hockey isn't the complete picture. In Michigan a player has to pick between playing high school or travel - they cannot play both. The sad fact is that many of the state's top players bypass high school all together and play AAA, which Michigan boasts some of the best in the nation. Not to mention the US Development team is based in Ann Arbor, and a lot of the players are homegrown.
Many of our top players bypass there junior and senior years and play junior hockey. If want to add in Midget AAA and Prep Schools in, the top 3 and 6 of the top 10 are from Minnesota. Also in the delopment program from this year there was only one more guy from Michigan then Minnesota.
Chicago has an amazing small-town, midwest feel for such a world class city. I do like me a Chicago road-trip every time. Feasible location IMO, esp given Suter's obvious familiarity with the place.
I see what you mean, the police sirens will be going off more frequently than his snooze alarm!
Fair enough I guess, but I still cant see him signing there.
If Lidstrom hadnt retired, I dont think Detroit would be in the conversation at all.
But, I guess we'll see what happens on July 1st. I know Ill be able to admit I was wrong if he does in fact sign with Detroit, not sure I can say the same about Wings fans if he signs elsewere though.

He gets a lot more vacation time to "burn" than you do...

It would be a joy to drop your kids off at school in a glitzy suburb, then drive by nearly 20% unemployment and horrible social problems on your way to work. That would make me feel good about my millions, especially when my kids were old enough to ask why.
I think the flames have to be definitely in the top 5. His Uncle who also played for the Flyers played here.
Oh Brother...that would be about the last team Suter would play for....he wants to go to a team that is a contender or at least on the upswing...and an American team.....Calgary would have to overpay horribly to get a player like Suter on their team.....
I am not sure what you mean here.
I know what I hear in my head when I read it, which of course just made me almost choke on my water...but I suspect you mean something different.
