Aberg would be a fantastic choice imo. His blend of aggression, speed, and shot are exactly what our prospect pool needs. He honestly might have the hardest shot in the draft, his one timer is already well above average for the NHL, as is his skating. He plays hard at both ends of the ice, as has been mentioned his motor is very high, and his one on one skills are great.

His only real knock is vision, as he tends to get tunnel vision at times, similar to Geno, and will try to do to much himself, missing opportunities with teammates. Personally I think its more his aggressive attitude and confidence coming out more than being a puck hog.

Undersized? 5'11 is pretty average for an NHL forward and there's plenty of 5'11 forwards have succeeded greatly. I'm not worried about his size at all; he already plays with an edge, plays against men, weighs in around 190 so he doesn't really need to add much more weight, and he's 17 so I'm sure he'll grow a bit more.

He fits your bill perfectly except for about two measly inches.

Size shouldn't be a concern, He's probably at most 5 lbs away from the weight he'll play at in the NHL.

All right I'm sold. Go ahead and mock-draft this soff Euro-Swede playing against Swede men.

Aberg is a BUM. He's the next Penner!

I kid.

I'm fully expecting Aberg to be on the board when we pick. And then, as Shero goes to announce his pick, I fully expect him to let out a big '**** you' to the crowd, flip everyone off, and announce the name of a defenseman I've never heard of.

If Matt Finn is on the board (even if Koekkoek is there too) when we pick then I fully expect Shero to take him, just because.

I could live with Finn, Skjei, or Pouliot. I wouldn't complain about Koekkoek if he can get some quicker legs. They'd beat the hell out of picking Wilson or Samuelsson in the first round.

Would be happy with either Pouliot or Aberg, but think Pouliot may be the bpa
