He definitely has an Ontario bias, he's always killing the Leafs for the lack of Ontario born players on their roster.

In one sense though, I don't mind him sticking up for Canadians in general, because I do think in many ways they tend to have short man syndrome when it comes to things involving the US or international play.

Cherry said something along the lines of "You love your wife, but don't wear a ring during the game" and mentioned a player that had to have his ring surgically removed after taking a shot to the hand.

Then again, Sykora did have the sense to get out of the cab when the cameras moved in....
If you saw Sykora's wife you would wear the ring all the time too

Is Don Cherry still relevant outside of Canada? Is he even still alive? Why are we even hearing his opinions on a non Canadian team? Why is he even on the CBC anymore I figured even they were tired of him too?

Looking for a transcript, but found this in the mean time:

Quote:
This video is from MUZ-TV, the Russian version of MTV awards. Ovechkin, Kovalchuk and Morozov, members of the Russian National hockey team who won the World Championship in Quebec, were invited as announcers for the "outstanding contribution to musical industry" award. Alexei Morozov opens an envelope and says that this award is given to Robin Gibb of The Bee Gees.

Ovechkin thanks the fans who supported them in Quebec, Kovalchuk says the same plus he thanks Vladislav Tretiak, "the right person who joined Russian hockey federation". Tretiak seems to be thrilled."

^Tretiak, that's who it is in the crowd then. I knew it was someone I've seen a bunch of times.
