has anyone checked this out; the rankings on Kreider, McIlrath and Miller are awful, and Bickel rank is downright laughable. Who writes these rankings, this is complete drivelI hope its not Leslie

What exactly is wrong with them? They look about right to me.

What's the deal with Jonathan Audy-Marchessault

I realize the guy is small but he's 21 and put up decent numbers on the Whale as a rookie. Can anyone provide a scouting report? Can he help the big team?

Yeah look good to me. I don't think he understands the rating system. Bickel should probably be a 5A or a 6B, but whatevs.

Those rankings look about right to me, Kreider is probably the only prospect we have whose ceiling is first line/first pairing.

Hey all, I don't follow the prospects as closely as most but what are the thoughts on prospects coming into next year. Does JT Miller have any chance in making the team in a 3rd line roll? Seems physically mature to me.

Very, very doubtful. If there is a lockout, he's either going back to juniors or to the AHL. If he goes back to juniors, there's no chance he'll be on the Rangers next season. If he goes to the AHL, it's possible he could earn a callup, but not likely that they'd waste a year of his contract by giving him 10+ games. If there is no lockout, he'll be invited to camp, but I still think it's very unlikely that he would make the team.

I think the most likely scenario is that he's sent back to juniors.

Note: Miller is 19 and wasn't drafted out of the CHL, so he is eligible to play in the AHL at any time. If he plays in the AHL at 19, but doesn't play 10+ games in the NHL, his contract will slide, lengthening his ELC by 1 year.

Some nice write ups about NY Rangers prospects for 2012. Positive words about Hagelin, Kreieder, McIlrath, St. Croix, Erixon, and Fogarty.
Quote:
Most Improved Prospect: Dylan McIlrath, D, Moose Jaw Warriors (WHL)

It was surprise to many when the Rangers selected Dylan McIlrath as the tenth overall pick in the 2010 entry draft. Although it was true that New York did not have any crease-clearing, mean defensemen in its stable of prospects, the young blueliner had some skating and balance issues while playing for the WHL Moose Jaw Warriors the season before. McIlrath was a work in progress and in the two seasons since being selected, the tough blueliner has matured quite a bit. Selected as captain of the Rangers' prospects for the Traverse City Rookie Team last fall, McIlrath showed leadership skills which he continued to hone as alternate captain of the Warriors this past season. In addition, McIlrath's skating and positioning improved this season, along with his shot. There is no question that he is the most improved prospect that the Rangers' have in their organization.

No reason at all to give up on him. I expect a slow start next season, but a strong finish. There's no denying the kid's talent and hockey IQ. Only thing holding him back is his strength.

Miller was on the team last year, he should be looked at to shoulder some of the offensive load this year. Hoping to see a big tournament out of him.

I hope Fogarty makes the team. Great to see him get some recognition for his solid play. If nothing else, it will be an eye-opening experience to play with so many good young players in the try-out.

Good news that Fogarty got an invite, but I'd be surprised to see him make the squad.

Awesome to see Fogarty make it!

He is definitely a long shot but frankly I didn't expect him to even get an invite. He's still got hills to climb but he has a ridiculous amount of potential.

Miller is a lock on the team unless he is injured. He was one of the players to actually show up last year. Glad to see Fogarty get an invite. He's my darkhorse pick to make the squad. I am upset to see McColgan not get an invite. He may have had a down year but he is really talented, he still has a shot if he performs really well during the season.

We definitely shouldnt.

He is a good shooter and nifty around the net. Offensively, he dont have much else, but he is a really hard worker who fits perfectly for this team in that sense.

Odds are probably that he will become a Dawes type of player, or a little worse probably. But sooner or later one of these kids will find that way to just get it done a the NHL level.

I am going to continue to Pimp Thomas as the next Mike Cammalleri. Mike took until he was 22-23 to make the NHL. Christian is ahead of schedule if he pushes for a spot next season. He has offensive instincts that you can not teach. Wait for him to physically develop and he will be a keeper.

I believe his is a ufa and I suspect he might prefer to sign with a different team with less competition for an NHL opportunity. I don't think he is Tortorella's preferred type of player. He is very skilled though and transitioned better than most juniors to pro hockey.

Any news on the prospect camp coming up?

Apparently, the Rangers are inviting Myles Bell, and someone else on the boards is saying that Dane Fox also got an invite.

i'm sure official site will have the roster tomorrow...so far i've seen thomas, mcilrath, yogan and mccolgan mention on twitter being in ny for the cap.

speaking of which i just checked the official site and they have a link to buy tickets for the harbor cruise on tuesday ($269)...but the thing that jumped out and made me laugh is that in addition to the prospects, former rangers adam graves, rod gilbert, jeff beukeboom and stephane matteau will be on the cruise. i wanna go on the cruise just to see how many fans rip on matteau for his son going to the devils lol

Myles Bell could be a huge FA pickup.
