Well... at least he has a ton of experience... and thank god he's french.

If they hired an english only guy, I would have shat myself and raged.

I'm pretty sure they will be one. Otherwise Gallant or Jodoin will have to do this job. Maybe one of the two have experience with defencemen, I don't know.

Indeed, Player Development. He won't be on the bench, or even in Montreal. He'll be travelling to Hamilton, and watching other Habs prospects, to ensure they develop properly.

Why? I really like to have staff that speak french, but with Therrien as a coach, I don't really care what language speak the assistants.

I know right....

I mean, let's give them a chance, obviously, but... no one here is exactly jumping for joy...

I'm guessing Gallant is the players coach? I mean I don't see him doing the Muller role, but he's supposed to be very likeable.

Definitely feels like something is missing though.

Jodoin won't be behind the bench! He'll be upstairs.

MAGodin:
Clément Jodoin sera sur la passerelle et non derrière le banc.

Some of you badly need to stuf with this crappy coaching staff nonsense... Gallant coached in the NHL for over 2 years than lead a junior dynasty to 2 straight memorial cup appearances. As for Jodoin, we know he's good simply by passed experiences with us and he knows all of the Hamilton boys inside out.

Sounds like Therrien is ruling out Robinson (or being coy)

While nothing's finalized, it appears Clement Jodoin will be the eye in the sky and not behind the bench during games #Habs

Really impressed with what Jodoin has to say this afternoon. Good hockey guy that's for sure and you see that the passion is there. I really like this hiring

Out of curiosity, how do you guys assess the talent and skill of coaches? How do you assess that Jodain is a better tactician than Therrien, or that the coaching staff is bad? It is just surprising to me that so many of you know so much about every coach in every league.

They don't. Most of the whiners are high school kids who know **** about hockey.

Out of curiosity, how do you access the age and hockey knowledge of posters that share the opinion that the coaching staff may be bad?
