Now wait a minute.... I thought Nail was a franchise player.
Sorry, I'm being vindictive right now. Not towards you but some of the Edmonton fans who believe it would take Johansen and #2 just to move up to #1. I have been labeled as a sore loser of the draft lottery since suggesting that the CBJ may not feel Yakupov is the top player (even though I've made my point before the lottery and suggested trading down from #1 would be a better option this draft). I prefer Galchenyuk but by no means would I be disappointed with Yakupov. I think this simply strengthens the argument that the top 5 or so players are really interchangeable depending on what a team wants.
As to the OP, CBJ won't move down beyond #5 unless something really good comes their way (unlikely to happen this year). I think a draft move could also be dictated by what happens with Nash.
Don't you understand? We're all sore losers ever since the wild fantasy of "if we win the lottery we can get our defenseman and Johansen too!" was cruelly and repeatedly shot down. It's SCIENCE.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
Yeah,Snow's really unhappy with his 2008 draft.
in 2008 Snow came away with
Bailey:NYI roster
Hamonic:NYI roster
Martin:NYI roster
Donovan:2nd best blueline prospect.#3 potential.Expected to compete for Isles spot next season
Ness:expected to compete for Isles roster spot next season.
Ullstrom:split time between ahl+ NYI.expected to be on NYI roster next season.
Poulinne of the team's top goalie prospects. Will compete for #2 spot on NYI for next season.
Petrov:Isles tried and failed to lure him over.Playing in the KHL
Spurgeon:lost in a numbers game.Playing on the Wild roster
Are Columbus fans expecting Nash to be dealt, during draft weekend?
I think he'll be dealt before the draft or very early durign the 1st round. If not, I have no idea when this merry-go-round stops. Like so many others, I want off. I want to know what happens but this isn't the thread for that. I do think he gets dealt and it will be before the draft.
Toronto and Carolina are two potential destinations and both have top 10 picks this year. That might dictate who Columbus takes where and what they do with the 2nd overall. If they get Carolina's pick at #8, who's to say they don't move the #2 for JVR and #20? (Not sure I'd do it but I've seen it thrown up there in other threads).

It makes some sense to move him for a 1st+ young talent now. Before he has a chance, to help his new team in the standings, lowering a future 1st rounder.
a lot better than the Leafs have done with their in that time
Back on topic, methinks Columbus want Forsberg and know they can trade down a bit to get him. Toronto will probably make the move to secure Galchenyuk.
Schneider for the 2nd overall pick...let's get it done?
Been widely discussed on the CBJ boards and we mostly agree that he is not worth that. He just isn't proven enough for that. I'd rather the Jackets get anyone else for a lower price, or at least a proven NHL starter for the pick. He just is not worth it.

Get over yourself. Most Oiler fans don't want anything to do with trading the 1st overall and your overrated prospect as the centre piece
Schneider for the 2nd overall pick...let's get it done?
I honestly dont thinhk he has any more value than a high second rounder or very late first rounder, something like #27-34.
He has been good in big games but hasnt shown game steal capability...yet. He hasnt shown he can handle the long season grind as the #1 starter...Yet. But biggest detractor for teams is that he only has 1 year left untill he is a UFA.

For the love of all things holy... please stop. We've been through this on every Columbus thread - mains, CBJ forum, draft forum... It's been hashed through enough. It's not happening. I love the effort but can we please talk about something else.
And don't say Nash for Luongo or Viqsi will come burn you....

I'm sure Burkie would love to pull off the necessary moves to get his hands on the #1and #2 picks respectively.
Pull what he did in BC with the Sedins this year and draft for TO Yakupov and Gally who play together and have great chemistry.
I would love the Habs to try that and stick it to TO at the same time.
Trade Subban + a 3rd rounder (not 3rd OA pick) to EDM for #1 pick.
Then trade their #3 + Webber + Paluchaj (cusp of the nhl players) to Columbus for the #2.
Draft Yaks and Gally 1 and 2.
Shooting this out there for $h|+S and giggles!!
But in all seriousness I don't see any of the picks moving unless someone wants a specific player very badly. And the only possible scenario I see is Toronto being very high on Gally and trying to make a move with Columbus.
Hell, if both Grigs and Gally are available at #3, I would trade down with TO if they want Gally that bad.
Schenn + 5th for 3rd + mid prospect. Why not?!
Then I hope that NYI doesn't draft Grigs at 4 and we pick him at 5 and we're laughing!

Not than I think VAN should trade Schneider but CBJ fans really don't think he's more proven than a player who hasn't played a single shift in the NHL?

I respect your opinion, but this is just flat our wrong. He's done it for us a couple-few times this season alone.
Sure. Just like he tried to get Tavares. I just don't see it happening.
Well he did say "trying" so I'm sure he's right, Burke will try to make a big splash...in the end I think he'll settle with movin up to 2nd as I think the Leafs and Habs are both targetting Galchenyuk.
