I doubt it. With a few teams looking for goaltending help, Bob will be priced as a starter rather than a backup.

All the team really needs is someone to play 15-20 games. That certainly doesn't require someone of Bob's caliber.

I would almost bet on Chris Mason's phone ringing on July 1st...

That's a good call. Forgot about him. Hopefully, not expensive. Not worth it.

Glad it's to Tampa, now I can still root for Lindback since it's a team I like!

and obviously gotta be happy with two second rounders... how about another Weber and Klein please!!!

Too bad Pittsburgh beat us to Vokoun, that would have been magnificent!

I wish. Vokoun will probably get to play significantly more in Pittsburgh though. And MAF is way more likely to get yanked in the playoffs too.

According to Poile, Anders asked for the trade at the end of the season, asking to go somewhere he could compete for the starting job.

Good for him He's not going to beat out Pekka and unlike $uter he's trying to help the team by getting good return back.

This is a odd question but a couple months ago I was on your board and remembered a thread about a guy going out, running into Lindback and posting a ton of pics, stories etc. Does anybody remember that thread or who posted it? I did a quick search but can't find anything.

Thank you mr poile

Hopefully @fakelindback is doing alright...

Very nice trade for Us...

Smith most likely will get a chance, and if not there is plenty of backups available this year...

Lindback was basically the same player this year as he was last year. He just played less and had a slightly worse (.915 vs .912) save percentage.

This is a great return for a guy who was only going to play 12-18 games and it's a good oppurtunity for Lindback to become a full time starter.

The fact we didn't trade him to CBJ really shows how much this organization believes in Lindy. Don't know what the exact offers were, but I know we had a good offer from them.

Bad for him that he's going to a team that has almost no defence.

He's going to get shell shocked in Tampa.

Not really. He's not a bad goalie at all, at least he was pretty good while he played for HC Fribourg-Gottéron in the Swiss National League A. Tampa Bay signed him to a one-year-deal in March 2012, so it's likely he will stay with the Predz organization. If he stays with the big team, he should be fine in the (very) few starts he will get behind Pekka Rinne.

I could be wrong, but are you guys confusing Garon the goalie with Caron the player?

I think it's the player you're getting back in the deal.

His deal ends July 1st. He's not staying.
