Kane doesn't want to sign with the Jets? (MOD: All Things E. Kane)
Nothing to get worked up about, but it's HF so God knows that's what will happen. He's an RFA. If the Jets don't want to trade him, they don't have to. They have more power than he does in this situation. At worst he'll hold out until August or September and eventually will end up re-signing.
Well, I would be prepared to offer Duchene in some sort of deal, but if this were true and he doesnt plan on signing with Winnipeg, your basically just trading for his rights, so I think there would have to be a decent + to Kane for Duchene now.
Would Kane + Enstrom for Duchene + Barrie or Elliott be tempting?
Again, that trade is assuming Kane isnt signing in Winnipeg, if he is willing to sign, then I dont think he gets traded but he and Duchene are pretty close straight up.
What does Kane possibly not willing to sign in Winnipeg have any negative impact the Avs or to his value? He's still a RFA and any team acquiring him has all the leverage.
I would want a + from the Avs in that deal. Kane and Duchene are close and Enstrom is worth more than Elliot or Barrie, even with his 1 year to UFA status.
I think its a little early in the summer to be assuming he won't sign. I think it could be a negotating thing. I respect the jets to much to give a lowball offer. I dont think the kings have the young forward the jets would need.If the jets can see any fair offer from the kings i would love to have Kane on the kings.

I had a feeling this was going to happen. Winnipeg just isn't a city a guy like E. Kane would live in - and that's not a chirp against Winnipeg; it's a chirp against Kane.
Johan Franzen
Tomas Tatar
Jakub Kindl
2013 1st round pick
Evander Kane
How's the value? bad? good? i'm not great at this so tweak as you like, but i don't think this is terrible
Don't want to trade with the Wings, the players on the wings are only good in Detroits system. If he is being traded then a team like the islanders would be a much better team cause they high pick and lots of good young players and they might overpay.

I don't get this. Where is the evidence for this? Leino is terrible in detroit, thrives elsewhere. Whitney is terrible in detroit, thrives elsewhere. quincey is terrible in detroit, thrives elsewhere, then comes back and is again terrible in detroit.
where are the players that are 'only good in detroit's system'?

If he isnt willing to resign then the Jets would basically have to trade him, I mean would you rather he sit there and not help at all, or trade him, get soe good pieces in return that actually want to play for the Jets?
Its simple really, if he doesnt want to sign with the Jets then they dont really have a whole lot of choice, yes he's an RFA and yes they could make him sit, but that would do more harm then good.
For the record, I dont really believe this rumor, its from shaky sources and kinda out of no were, but if it were found to be true, theres no doubt it decreases Kanes value by at least a little.
If he won't sign here, we're going to flip him for a comparable player. Jeff Skinner, Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin, Taylor Hall, etc. No package of mediocres. Kane is our only top tier talent, and we would trade him in a 1-for-1 for a different top tier player with a bit more class.

So you think he would stay home and not make millions of dollars instead of playing with the Jets?
And there are 28 other teams in the league besides the Avalanche.
