2012 NHL Entry Draft: Options for the Minnesota Wild (THW)

2012 NHL Entry Draft: Options for the Minnesota Wild
Excerpt:
Quote:
"Minnesota has the seventh overall pick and, remarkably, it is the seventh time in franchise history that the team has had a pick in the top ten, the most recent being 2011 when they picked Jonas Brodin tenth overall. Nine of their ten first-round picks in the NHL Entry Draft from 2000 to 2009 played at least one NHL game in 2011-12 (Tyler Cuma made his NHL début this past April) but only three actually suited up for the Wild. That being said, one thing that Minnesota may look at in their first-round pick is a player who may be with them for the long haul, joining top prospects such as Cuma, Brodin, Mikael Granlund, Charlie Coyle and Zack Phillips.
Judging on the patience of Chuck Fletcher and his staff, the 2012 first-round pick of the Minnesota Wild could be a player who the organization will have to wait for or expect to be ready immediately. Past history indicates that the Wild generally prefer players who can be ready in one to three years."

Sorry, but the bimbo who wrote this article doesn't know much about the Wild at all. 3 forwards as our top possible picks? Really? She thinks that because none of the d-men we may draft with the 7th overall pick will be NHL ready, that we're not going to pick a d-man. Yeah, okay.
I can't help but notice it... it's like extremely loud alarm bells inside my head when I see it!
I know that feeling, man. Similar to referring Finland as "part of Scandinavia"/"Scandinavian country", or mixing up "they're/their" or "your/you're". Seriously, I'm a Finn with a bad grammar and horrible spelling, I misspelled "because" as "becourse" for like 3 years or so and I'd be ****ing lost without Chrome's spell check yet I still get those right.
Sportsfan1 is notorious for mixing up his they're/there/theirs! At least he was back on the official boards. Can't say I've noticed him make the mistake yet since he converted though.
I also hear you on the Finland/Scandanavian thing. My Mom's dad is from Finland and her Mom's parents are from Finland... so I was taught from day one that Finland is NOT Scandanavian.

I've LEARNED! And you taught me more English then any of my stupid teachers.
That's good to hear, as I was literally banging my head on the desk for a while back then seeing you make that mistake over and over and over and over and over again!
It's sort of like seeing ftw using punctuation. It almost throws me for a loop that he's started to use proper punctuation and capital letters some of the time!
/just teasing a bit ftw. It always interests me to see how different people behave since I'm usually wrapped up in my own beliefs and behaviors.

I laid some knowledge about Cuma and Brodin at her doorstep.
That said, draft predictions are just educated guesses. She seems caught up on the notion that the Wild need a player who can play in the NHL next year. Yakupov is the most likely to make the jump, and maybe Galchenyuk, but in this draft, 99% of the prospects chosen will need time to marinate before making the jump.
We'll see what happens though... less than a week! Let's Go Wild!
