The Jets would have to be on some sort of ridiculous drugs to accept that kind of deal.

You're right, I should have said that getting a prospect as risky as Nino for Kane isn't the smartest thing to do.

I'd give up a boatload for him.

Zibanejad, Puempel, 1st round pick and 3rd round pick. Willing to sweeten if necessary...

Honestly, this kid has such an awful attitude, if I were a Jets fan, I'd immediately accept most of these proposals.

He is not the next Iginla.

Neither does what Sven looks to become. The guy could easily be one of the top 5 players from the 2011 draft.

Yes yes we all think our teams possess the best player not currently playing in the NHL... but really?

If we can get back to the land of the realistic...Carter bought back 8th overall,Voracek and a 3rd rounder.

The NYI offer:
4th overall,Grabner and 3rd rounder.

Was it the fact that Baertschi had less points in his draft year that leads you to believe that?

That's a reasonable offer--perhaps even a slight (objective) overpayment.

But if Winnipeg is forced to move Kane, I'd think they'd want to address their biggest organizational need--a frontline center.

He's the biggest chip that the team is likely to possess and move in the near future.

I think we need to flip this around. Rather than focusing on what collection of assets could net Kane, what could Winnipeg get by packaging Kane for a better / more proven player?

No, I think it was Baertshi averaging 2 PPG in the WHL during his sophomore season, scoring 3 goals in 5 NHL games, and reading the analysis of countless publishings about him.
FYI, if you want to compare draft seasons, Sven's draft season was his also his rookie year, and he still outscored Kane in the playoffs.

Is this really the common perception among Calgary fans? I assumed the poster above was trolling, kidding, or, well, mis-informed.

There is no prospect (setting aside RNH--who's only a prospect by HF standards) that can get Kane 1-for-1.

None.

Closest, I guess, would be Tarasenko, but Winnipeg takes too much risk there.

Sure it doesnt have something to do with that Flames logo to the left???

Seriously, Kane>>>>Baertschi, and Kanes has just as much if not more potential.

Take off the Homer glasses man.

Thats fair but you would be getting Okposo and a the 4th overall. At worst its a second line player and very good prospect but if Nino becomes a top 6 player (or the first liner he is projected to be) it is a pretty great trade.

Send a message via AIM to bigplay41
Philadelphia has the assets to get it done IMO (Schenn, Coutourier, Simmonds, Voracek, Carle)

I don't consider Grabner being close to Voracek.

If it was the Islanders, I'd rather do a deal like Kessel:

1st in 2012 and 1st in 2013.
