If I have a complaint, it's that the Sony/Tri-Star releases are awfully shallow. No special features, no Japanese audio w/subs. I even used to have a Destroy All Monsters disc that didn't even have menus. It just played the minute you put the disc in, then repeated when it hit the end. And only 1 chapter.

Godzilla: Final Wars' subtitle (the "Final Wars" part) also totally steals the font that the Sharks use for a lot of their arena graphics (which, let's be honest, they stole from Batman Forever, but whatevs... )

Wow, even my Wu-Tang Kung Fu collection has menus on their DVD's (Invincible Armour is the best)

You're totally right on the font. That font sure gets around!

Oh, yeah I didn't mean to imply it was one of the greatest things ever. I was just surprised there was absolutely no talk about it. We talked about worse things in here.

Hey, Nem's the one with a Transformers fetish that is borderline reportable

To be honest, I'm way too much of a pansy to watch someone risk death. Even my girlfriend makes fun of me for avoiding anything scary. The Grudge ruined me

I regrettably missed that as well, I have family visiting so I haven't had a lot of television time.

since we were just talking monster movies, I feel compelled to add some useless trivia:

did you know it would take just about 2 full days of continuous movie watching to get through every Toho-produced Godzilla film (not counting the US abomination with Matthew Broedrick). Running times differ for the older movies that were re-cut to be dubbed/released in english, but the rough estimate I figured out would be somewhere in the 44 hour range.

EDIT: also in other nerd news - part 1 of Episode 30 of DBZ Abridged releases tomorrow

I randomly found this video, and then I watched some of his lectures. His lectures and demonstrations are actually pretty enthralling lol. I wish this guy taught all of my physics and engineering courses.

Oh yeah this was my first one. I think I did alright. Sure there was dried salt from the river all over my body and face (from rowing hooray!), and I kept thinking of how glorious breakfast was gonna be but I'm confident I pulled a solid B-.
