He said "je veux gagner la coupe stanley" when asked if he was expecting a long term contract before july 1st. When asked if he thought the team was better after all the recent changes in the management and coaching staff, he replied "je veux faire la serie l'an prochain" or something like that, followed by an apology for his hesitant french. Apparently big george helped pk with his french per a statement near the end of the interview.
Sorry i dont have it on record because of technical difficulties.
Also, when asked by patrice brisebois if he thought his 3rd year would see him become a leader for the team, pk answered among other things that his goals and expectations for himself remain very high, as much as to become a leader like chara or lidstrom.
And also while i'm at it and i still remember, here are some more q and a I caught (very approximate transcription by memory):
Q : Did you get in touch with carey recently (about eventual contract etc.)?
A : No he's difficult to get a hold to in the summer. He likes to get lost in bc. But now he's on twitter so maybe it'll get easier.
Q : what are your reaction towards randy ladouceur's departure ?
A: learned a lot from him. Media sometimes see confrontation (relatively to the practice yelling incident) where it's only hockey and learning process. It s sad to see them go.
There are some idiots but it does not compare to the French media...not even close.
I think the french media, just seem to sensationalize everything, in order to sell papers, or get people to watch their shows....and of course, the language issue always comes up with them, where as the english media seem to steer away from that issue...
