Hard to argue with that. You can say hind sight is 20/20 but it felt wrong at the time when I heard Mitchell had signed in LA. At least Mitchell was a confirmed fit with this team when he was healthy. Ballard never seemed to figure out what his role was going to be on this team.

There's nothing wrong with winning the President's Trophy. Everyone wants the Cup, but there's no need to be ashamed of winning the PT.

Mitchell suffered his concussion in early January. At the draft in late June, he still wasn't cleared to resume workouts yet was he?

You miss that much time and you have to wonder if he's ever going to make it back.

Ballard was definately a mistake. That's on Gillis and his pro scouting team.
