One thing i disagree with. No matter how much footage you watch on Graves, nobody will play like him. Graves playing hockey is similar to Hendrix playing guitar, no matter how much you listen to him or watch him, nobody will ever play like he did. Same goes for Graves.

it's extremely hard, but it's something to strive for. playing that style of hockey is what every young kid should WANT to do. i doubt anyone will ever reach where graves was at in every aspect of the game but that's what the goal should be

Growing up watching with my parents it was Mike Gartner.

Then I was all about Petr Nedved.

Favorite current Ranger is Callahan.

I can certainly respect the youngins going for Girardi or Callahan. 2 gritty guys that beat the odds to make it.

for the record Bubba didn't have the upside of Blake, few players did.

But he was an awesome captain, didn't allow any other team or player to take liberties against a NY player and anchored the top pairing for years on broadway. Also amusingly he was originally a Rockie or if you prefer a Devil before coming to NY.

If I had to find a current player who reminds me of Bubba it would be guys like Phaneuf, Byfuglien, Bieksa or Jovanovski in his prime

Favorite current Rangers are Staal, Girardi, Dubi and McDonagh. I have a feeling I'll be adding Kreider to that list very, very soon. He was certainly one of my favorites in the POs.

hey we still have some Dubi love, nice to see. Hagelin is quickly on my list also, but honestly i love every player that does good things for the team.

1)Graves
2)Leetch
3)Lundqvist
4)Callahan
5)Richter

Honorable mention to Zubov, Messier, Kovalev. McDonagh, Richards, and Hagelin are likely to rise on my list within a few years.

Steve Larmer was a huge favorite, too, but he was here for only a short time.

I remember as a kid when the GAG line was flying' high. Ratelle was my favorite but I believe Hadfield got hurt. I remember listening to the radio through the pillowcase to Marv and the signal would fade in and out. I think we were playing the Blues and Vic's replacement was Jack Egers. He scored a couple in his first few games with a cannon for a shot. As a kid you don't know if he's any good...you just remember the goals. Anyway, he was my favorite for a brief period of time.

Of the modern era? Jagr, Lundqvist, Gaborik. Also like Callahan, and really enjoyed Straka on the team.

All time? Richter and Leetch. Leetch has to be up there for everyone. I've always been partial to goalies who have performed big here, so Richter is right up there.

And I know, 100% no one here will like this, but in his prime... Nedved was one of my favorite Rangers ever. I still have fond memories of him leading the Czech line. Got a lot more flack than he deserved.
