3 way deal: MTL-ANA-NYI

Habs get
4th overall

Ducks get
Plekanec

NYI gets
6th overall
Mtl second round draft pick (33rd)

Ducks get their second line C. Nyi moves down two spots but they get a high second round pick and they still can draft a d. Habs get 4th overall and draft grigs and with the the 3rd overall habs draft gally

you have to add to that proposal to have the Ducks even listen. The Islanders arent trading down either for an extra 2nd round pick.

Do the Ducks think 30 yr old Plekanec, worth 6th overall?
Does Snow think his guy will be available at #6?

Most Ducks fans actually would do pleks for 6th overall

Im beyond excited that non-Ducks fans are saying that we get hosed, when its actually a pretty damn good proposal for us!! I think we would need to get a little bit more yes, but not that much.

Please add though, I would love even more!

I proposed an Islanders trade down for an extra 2nd a couple days ago and it was well received by many fans. There will be a multitude of talented defenseman available at 6.

Habs and Isles do this, Ducks don't. Habs would need to add more going to Anaheim to get them to bite.

you state something about ducks fans as if its a fact and THEN you ask for ducks fans opinions?
long island trades down from 4 to 6 and only gains a second round pick out of it? and on top of that, they get to watch montreal draft 3rd AND 4th?

get a clue slick.

I agree that the ducks will need a little something more, but I think that snow has shown he has no prob moving down the board. If he thinks he could still get his guy I would say yes from isles.

Snow has had high lottery picks in 2008,2009,2010 and 2011.He's moved down 1x with those picks.

We are more likely to see Snow sit tight at #4,then try to trade back up into the first round from #34.

I like a single trade-down for the Isles, because then Garth Snow can package the two 2nds together, move back up into the mid-to-late 1st round, and possibly leave the draft with two blue-chip defensive prospects instead of one.

If I get to see a combination of Dumba & Ceci, or Reinhart & Maatta both pulling on an Islanders jersey at the end of day 1? I'd practically be doing cartwheels in the streets.

In 2008,Snow went into the draft saying his propect pool was deleted and he was starting a homegrown rebuild.

He wanted as many warm bodies as he could get.He came out of that draft with 13 prospects. He's done stockpiling picks.
