JJ Daigneault hired as defenseman coach?

per Dany Dubé on 98.5 Sports radio.

That would complete MT's trio of ass coaches.

Gerard Gallant is not Québecois, nor does he speak French.

He already stated that him expressing his interest was YEARS ago and that the rumors started this off-season were by his agent. Nothing more to the story.

I heard it on the radio the other day that he was a strong candidate, I believe it was Mcguire who I heard say it?

He served well with the Connecticut Whale, as assistant coach (record of 36-26, lost in the second round of the playoffs 4-2). He could do well as assistant coach, working with the defense of this team.

Don't really know much about Daigneault as a coach, he fits the bill of the defensive coach though. I can't say this coaching group is the dream team, but it's balanced at least.

No apology was necessary. As for Daigneault, I am just like you: I don't know his work since he retired as an active player.

I hope it doesn't turn out that way, but depending on who you ask, that's exactly what we got.

Now THAT's an intelligent signing. The best one so far amongst assistants and management (aside from Rick Dudley).
