Good.

The only relevant piece of information I was able to find was that Jacques Laperrière serves as a role model for Daigneault in his coaching career. It's good news because Laperrière was our last good coach for the Ds; imo they never truly find a replacement.

Great move. The guy has acquired tremendous experience at AHL level, and was already a good mentor back in the early 90's for younger guys like Brisebois, Desjardins and Odelein.

This guy was not the biggest but was quick and had great positioning in the d-zone.

Jodoin has a good hockey mind and he is a perfect fit for the "eye in the sky" position imo.

This rating is absurd.

Everyone is as important as the next guy. It's the "team" concept Bergevin wanna implement and ALL these guys have complementary knowledges and skills.

Of course Dudley as more experience. He's 63 for God sake !

Do you just wait for people to say things you don't like? Take a look at your last two posts. You always so pleasant?

It's much easier to be a dick on the internet than in real life. That's why so many people do it.

As for JJ, good hiring I suppose. I don't know enough about his coaching career to really comment on it with any sort of knowledge.

It's a hockey discussion board. Not the United Nation.

And you should read my other posts when I am bringing up ideas.

Anyway, if you don't like what I am posting, just put me on your IGNORE list !

Thank you and adios.

Yeah, but for 38 and 11 games respectively. It's not like they spent years in the AHL honing their craft under his tutelage.

I agree re Gallant.

At any rate, what a breath of fresh air after the last few seasons. Excited to see what this new admin team can do for us!

I don't get the corralation anyhow ? These are two players who don't play with the Habs.

Wow.....what I've been wanting for years has finally happened. Complete overhaul at the coaching and management level....from AHL club to the big club. A dream come true.

I like this signing. JJ was a very solid dman and he has experience in the coaching ranks. It's good to see more Francos getting these kinds of roles as it gives them experience and also increases the pool of franco replacements when Therrien gets canned (all coaches get canned at some point).

Always liked JJ's work ethic as a player and I'm sure that carries over to any job he takes on.So with his ties to Therrien as well he can only help the team(coaches) succeed as a whole unit.

I'm all up for it.

Hope it's true. That would mean our coaching team has 2 ex players in JJD and GG, and ones that didn't slack, Therrien and Gallant who can make sure the team actually skates instead of glide, and Jodoin who has a lot of experience that's going to cue Therrien on what he sees during games.

That could help with what I see as Therrien's weakness, getting outcoached, and Habs' weakness for a few years, lack of pride and drive.

Daigneault also would be perfect to work with the epic glut of NHL potential young D we have stashed up, along with Brisebois.

Bergevin has a plan, and it looks good. Whether it works, I have no idea, but to see him pluck people from other organisations, when we start hearing stuff about these organisations being sad to see those he grabbed go, it looks good for the future.

I like the balance and depth that Bergevin has brought to the organization. When you compare the upcoming year with last year, it looks like the team was operating with a skeleton staff (no personal offense to Gauthier ). I am even warming up to Therrien and I think his choices for coaches represents balance as well. It is also obvious that the team was lacking in the player development area; now it seems to have become a focal point for the team and that is the best news I have heard for a long time. I would imagine adding an assistant coach in Hamilton and rounding out the scouting staffs (both pro and amateur) will be the next steps.

Now, let's hope the moves to improve the on-ice product will be as bold, efficient and promising.

So far, management has been built into quite a strong group. I like the coaching staff and find it promising, although we'll have to wait and see just how well they can all motivate the guys.

Up next is the on-ice product.
