They want to go with something "uplifting" that will get people on their feet and cheering, apparently.

"Kickstart my Heart" by Motley Crue wouldn't be a bad choice, although I'm willing to bet it's been used before by someone out there.

Nope. It's a FAR cry from a goal song. It's a game over song.

"Tonight,
We are young,
So let's set the world on fire,
We can burn brighter,
Then the sun."

What part says "game over" to you? It seems like a really uplifting stanza to me.

Beause 18,000+ people want to serenade the Canucks after they score a goal rather then celebrate... ... Right. I love the lyrics to 'Imagine' by John Lennon but I still think it would make a horrible GOAL song preceded by a horn blast or three. Your suggestion would be more fitting if instead of a horn they had a pan flute in the key of C.

Meh, I guess you're right. Has any team done Eye of the Tiger before?

"Flight of the Valkryies" might be a good one.

If I understand common trends it will be some indie hipster retro style throwback rocker such as Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, The Strokes... ... ... I wouldn't be surprised to see it be a Gorillaz song.

Edit: Actually now that I think about the trend is The Black Keys 00:06 to 00:28

1. We aren't Young. Luongo, the Sedins, Bieksa, Salo...all in their 30s.

2. Last time we set stuff on fire, it was a riot.

3. See #2

4. It's never sunny in Vancouver. Not even in June.

Plus, the song is slow and boring and emotional. Its being used for 90% of grad themes this year.

Not the way to celebrate a goal.

Sort of OT, but just fire DJ Dave. All of our goal songs and the in-house music are terrible. It's embarrassing.

what's with all the epic movie type stuff?

I thought the intro song was supposed to pump the team up.

Here's my choice:

That was awesome as the Vancouver Giants' goal song in their early days. I could easily get behind this.

U2's, Where the streets have no name, gives me chills every damn game. Never change that intro.

That sounds not bad actually. Better than VAMANOS.

I could try and commit some of these suggestions to video in order to see what works and what doesn't...hmm.

(not like I have anything else to do)

Too European and emotional.

We need something that says "we are going to give you the beating of your life in our house."

Here is the Boston Bruins' intro song when the team's take the ice before puck drop. When I heard it in January when the Canucks played them, I got so pumped:

Here it is during the game against the Canucks in January:

It makes "Streets" sound so pansy.

Something like this would be awesome. Someone suggested Ride the Lightning earlier. I would love "Fuel" by Metallica, or "Thunderstruck."

I think the intro to this song would be pretty great as a goal song.

If that was our goal song they'd have to play "Sorry for Party Rocking" right after. Bleargh.

Does anyone not like "Eye of the Tiger"?
