Correction: Åberg played for a team that was in the top league and was relegated to the 2nd tier.
It's hard to compare since DIF had a bad season. Åberg was really producing in the beginning of the season. He started to look a little better in the last game of the relegation round (Kvalserien) but it's hard to say where he'll be drafted considering his play post-concussion.

Okay, so Aberg had a good season playing for a team that was the worst in the SEL? Every team they played was better, and he still had a good year.
Forsberg played on the 2nd best team in Allsvenskan and had the same numbers?
What's the issue? Playing time?
I'm not insinuating, just explaining my confusion.

Injuries, he was one of his teams best players the first 20-25 games and then he was injured.
Before the injuries he was on the first line and was close to if not in, the top10 in scoring in SEL. After the injuries he barley had any points and was playing in the 3-4:th lines.

Different leagues, different situations. Scoring is fairly similar between the leagues as well.
People see that Åberg was playing in the SEL, and assume he's a better player than Forsberg because he's playing in a higher league, but it's not the AHL/NHL.
At the beginning of the season, Åberg was phenomenal. He had a great opportunity and made the best of it. Then injuries struck and he never recovered.
In terms of the teams, Djurgården was relying on a lot of young forwards while Leksand had a very veteran lineup. So different situations. Leksand had such depth that Forsberg was on the 3rd/4th line.
Next season I'm certain someone will post that Åberg is a bust because he's playing in the 2nd tier Swedish league.

For my part, I was certainly impressed by the fact Aberg put up similar point totals to Zibanejad this year, on a points per game basis. Z-Bad was recently voted the #5 prospect in all of hockey, and the reasoning for his lower point totals seem to be his team's troubles and lack of scoring (that, and most recognize Zibanejad is a bit of a project compared to others in the top 10). I would suspect the same thing impacted Aberg. All the more impressive when you take into account his injuries and set backs.
for those that have seen him how long till he comes over to play in NHL and what is his offensivve potential?
Feels like a high risk/high reward-player he is very speedy and got a unreal shot, but he is also a bit undersized. Feels like a top-six prospects that can become a sniper in NHL or stagnate and never make it.

great thanks. what would be your predicition when he comes over to play in norht america from sweden?
Leads his team and is 16th league-wide in Allsvenskan(SEL-2), so pretty good. Not being picked to the WJC team seems to have ignited a fire under his ass.
I haven't actually watched more than a handful of games, so beyond stats I can't say anything.
Started slow, was cut from the WJC team, has since been well above a point-per-game and currently leads his team in points. If we look at the last 20 games, he's probably been a top5 player in the league. He had 10pts after 26 games, now sits at 38pts in 49 games. His goalscoring could be higher though, he's had trouble finding the net shooting under 7%.
Is it possible that his slow start of the season was partly due to his concussion last year? I know he slowed down a lot coming back (too early?) last year. Could he still have not been 100% early on?
