Had my grad at the bell centre yesterday. Can't believe protestors ruined the traditional graduation. Pure horse ****.

Protesters didn't ruin it, McGill took advantage of the opportunity to try and delegitimize the manifs by pre-emptive action.

Oh and congrats!

Yeah, that doesnt surprise me.

For arts, entry level courses are often filled with a bunch of garbage, over analyzing simple concepts, rife with memorization, expectant of cookie cutter assigments and essays, and in general, unintellectual.

Well engineering is kinda the same I guess. I find entry level courses to be plain ********(as in challenging but useless) and later courses to be more specific but then again, still filled with some garbage.

I actually did pretty good in my two 300 levels. I accidentally took an upper level english (367?) and POLI 398T and I got good marks.

I'm registered for a bunch of upper levels next semester, I hope I don't die.

Reminded me, in a way, of one of the choices we had when I took my sec 5 English final.

I have no idea what you do with that lol.

Any idea on what to do with a 2.73 gpa? (B.A from Concordia)

Obviously Masters are out of the question I'm guessing. Just wondering if anyone here was able to pursue some form of graduate education with a low gpa like that.

What's your major/minor? Might help some people.

I'm not sure what to suggest really. I know for BAs masters are much more of an asset than a bachelor but i've never really thought about it.

I'm tutoring a student that wants to attend a "party university" but, at the same time, wants a party university that still has some academic integrity. However, the student I'm tutoring doesn't feel confident he can get into McGill either, even though it fits all of his criteria. He wants to study industrial relations or human resources. Any suggestions?

So my brother didn't get his PHY 536 (?) that was conditional for his acceptance at Marianopolis in Health Science.

What happens now? I never had to go through something like this.

Can't he take intense summer classes to get it quickly?

If not, then I think he's out of luck

You could still get into a mid tier university, have to be willing to be mobile though.

How is your CV? You got reference letters? Work experience/internships?

Actually that is completely false. I work at McGill, the university got multiple threats directed towards them during the graduation week. So you're wrong.

not in QC you need your diploma. If you need only a french/math class you can do it in cegep.

Other solution: go in ontario.

Can't you apply as an independent student in Quebec?

What is it that you want to apply for? UQAM may very well waive the DEC requirement if you're 21 and older, subject to conditions.
