Apparently the pre-season schedule is out. Losing in Dallas is a good way to start it all.

E: Oops, in Boise, not on Dallas.
I'll miss ye annual Columbus preseason game.

Anyone else fear we'll never be more than a boring, incompetent franchise regardless of who's at the helm, who are top prospects are, who we sign, etc...? I just can't shake a feeling that for some reason NHL can't work in Minnesota.

To a certain extent, yes, I am pessimistic about them.

Boise is an interesting choice.

I've always thought they should play the home pre-season games in the big arenas around the region.

Duluth got nixed because of lockout concerns.

Even as someone who spends a bleep load of my disposable income on this team, I guess I can't get too caught up on any thoughts regarding this team. Good or bad. Way too many other things in life that are wayyy too important to be bothered by how a sports team performs...

That's lame. Hopefully they revisit the idea in 2013. I think that would be fantastic for the area, and could serve for a test bed for what to do with the Aeros if Houston ever gets an NHL team.

They did at one point IIRC. I did get to see the game too, but that was over 5 years ago.

Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, N.D. (Oct. 6, 2002, Oct. 1, 2003, Sept. 23, 2005 and Sept. 24, 2007),

I went to the game against the Sabres. Had a few good players in the game It was awesome to see them so close to me.

Not at all.

I don't know how Wild fans can't tell the difference between the Fletcher and DR era. Yeah, I get that the Wild seem to be treading water in the standings, but from a total organizational view, it's night and day.

Fletcher era >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> DR era.

Just think about the draft alone? Do people realize how freakin awesome Flahr and co are? I'm completely terrified that Flahr is going to get his own NHL franchise in a few years.

I know it doesn't seem like we are moving anywhere, but the Wild are on the up and up.

Mentioned in the Russo article about Lats:

Just a guess though.
I wonder if we'll see his RFA rights traded Friday/Saturday for a late round pick. I'd think that someone out there who needs a 3rd/4th liner would be willing to make a stab at him for a 7th round pick.

Seems like a reasonable scenario. I would even go as high as 5th, if he were to sign with that team. Is he required to be on a 1-way if he's signed as a RFA, or could they make it a 2-way? If he's really lucky, he might score a 3-way.

Well, I'm not sure what his QO has to be (think it's 2-way) but it's at $550k according to CapGeek. One-way/Two-way should be more or less moot though as I don't think teams would think he'd clear waivers.

Aha. I'd say we could put together a Terhaar highlight montage, but that'd be a waste of 15 seconds.

Rau was probably the best of the "sad" # of callups, hopefully we WON'T see him next year but glad the organizations keeping him around.
