Please... don't remind the Miami Cheat are about win a championship. This has been a terrible sports year. The Kings and Heat winning championships and the Sharks getting their ***** kicked in 5. Last year was much better with Vancouver and Miami falling short and at least the Sharks made it to WCF. I hope LeBron's legacy is forever tarnished no matter how many championships he wins because he teamed up with someone who should be a rival and who he should be battling with for championships.
Meh Lebron has a worse rep than he really deserves. I mean he was an idiot for saying that and having the "decision" but all in all it was his right to leave Cleveland and he hasn't had any off court issues.
(not to turn this thread into a Lebron debate) But I do understand if people don't like him.
But yes, not the best sports year.
Here's to Sharks/Warriors/49ers in 2013!!! (still hopeful on the Giants this year)

One bit of news - defenseman Brent Burns had sports hernia surgery after the season ended (previously unrevealed by the club). #SJSharks

It's now official that McLellan returns for next season, but assistant coaching staff is still TBD. #SJSharks

Fine Winnipeg, you win. Patrick Marleau for Evander Kane. But only this once will we help you out like this.
I mean I know you being facetious and Winnipeg would probably want to stay younger, but do you think there is any Merit in people like Marleau going to rebuilders/non playoff teams?
I feel like when the Sharks got a 32 year old Damphousse it really put us on the map and made us a consistent contender.
Or was that just a different era that doesn't really work in today's NHL?

I was being facetious but I do believe that a player like Marleau could go and be a good example for a younger team like the Jets ala Vinny Damphousse. Also the Jets were in the hunt for the playoffs pretty late into the season.
It was more wishful thinking on my part. If/when Patty is traded I see him as more of a fit in Buffalo or Carolina (who still owe us for taking Wallin).
SJS gets: Stafford and a 2012 1st rd pick, 12th overall
BUF gets: Marleau (the #1 center they've been craving)
SJS gets: Ruutu and a 2012 1st rd pick, 8th overall
CAR gets: Marleau (a good #2 center behind Staal if his brother doesn't come over from PITT)
"Wilson acknowledged that he would not be talking with a half dozen players about to become free agents on July 1. He declined to identify them, however, because he could be trying to bring them back to San Jose after that date depending on what other players are available." From Working the Corners.
That makes me a little nervous, especially RE: Winnik
