DW didn't show up for the interview just like the Sharks didn't show up for the playoffs. It was just a bad matchup. DW matches up better with KNBR.

Basically said players were not buying in "Played the way they wanted to play, not the way we needed them to play"

Marleau "played pretty well in the playoffs" over the last few years.

Called him an "important part of our team"

Between the lines: Patty isn't going anywhere.

Ah DW, comparing Patty to Penner isn't the best sell

Lauded Niemi's cup win as reason why he's better than Greiss.

DW says "didn't transition the 9 or 10 players that we added very well"

Didn't integrate players very well, implied too much turn-over possibly.

Based on how DW is talking, it looks like we're out of the Nash running.

Said CBJ want's our top young centerman (Couture probably) and a total non-starter (thank god).

So sounds like Nash to San Jose is dead unless CBJ accepts less.

Thank God. Do you think the young centermen comment was just Couture or Couture and Pavs?

Thats it. Not bad actually, said a little more than he normally does, especially on the Nash front.

Howsen could simply be waiting till the last minute and then dropping his demands if no one bites though. I dont see any way they can really keep Nash at this point.
