His agent is saying he's returning to the KHL. Well... The End.

What a ****** waffle. He's going to screw the Preds at every turn in the road.

There's another report that says he signing in the NHL. I'll believe there's been a decision when I see that the contract' been signed from both named and reliable source, preferrably from Poile or Grossman.

Poile's the one that said they couldn't agree on the length of the contract but I'm sure other things were driving Poile's decision to offer what he did.

I know what he said on the radio. Radulov is guilty of many things here. The Phoenix thing wasn't even the straw that broke the camels back. It has as much to do off ice and his view of himself and stardom as anything. The guy has serious serious maturity issues, issues I had hoped went away as he grew older. I hate that he has million dollar talent and a ten cent brain.

Chesnokov is pretty reliable. He was the guy who kept tweeting about how Radulov's return to the NHL this past season was very likely, and nailed basically every reason as to why it was likely.

With that said, we then have to decide whether or not to believe his Russian agent, the guy who started all of this crap to begin with back in 2008.

Gotta give Rads some credit here. He may be an SOB, but he's a crafty SOB.

By playing the NHL, he now triggers the "returning NHLer" clause in the KHL, meaning his contract doesn't count against the cap. Now THAT was clever. Hate the guy for it, but well played.

Ha...I hadn't actually thought about the returning NHLer clause. Now that would be funny...I really dont like the KHL.

Gee, I am glad I wished he would never come back...

Its unfortunate this clown hasn't grown up, however, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice... well you know how that goes.

That being said, I know this is going to sound like bragging but during the whole rads frenzy I cautioned everyone that it might be better to just think of rads as dead to us... and now this. I warned about bringing him back and everyone on here was up in arms that I would dare question the judgement of bring him back... well it is what it is. Not proud about being right, but at the same time not happy at all about the situation. It sucks, but its not like it is a lightning bolt from no where.

Trying to replace him and AK is not going to be easy. After the failure for Wilson and Hornqvist to elevate their game, you gotta think we are in the market for a pair of top wingers... draft or otherwise.

Sometimes you win. Sometimes you lose. You have to try to do either. Poile tried, and it didn't work.

I'm pretty pissed about not bringing AK back. But that's for another thread.

not to mention a poor excuse for a pro hockey player. He lacks the professionalism to play hockey for this organization. The guy was late to everything

hasnt been mentioned in a bit, so will just throw out that rads fell all the way to us at #15 in the draft because he was thought to be a headcase. Poile, who has been criticized for being too conservative most of the time, took a high risk/high reward gamble and it didnt pan out. happens to other teams all the time....

would be nice if we could get something for his rights but i suspect he will go to russia for several years, make a gazillion rubles, then will think he has to try to prove he can play in the NHL again, come back as a UFA and flop in the NHL again... and we will be there to tell the fans of whatever team signs him, "told ya"

Question - If Preds offer Radulov RFA qualifying offer, do we retain his rights:
A. Until he's 27 and eligible for UFA
B. Indefinitely

Anyone know the current CBA rules on this?

I'm about 80% sure he'll be a UFA when he turns 27 under the current CBA.

That said, there's a new one coming soon. It'd be sweet if we held onto him indefinetly.

Radulov didn't have any "headcase" reputation at the time we drafted him, nor did he really fall. He went about where most figured he would go. He was actually considered a pretty "safe" prospect, because he had already committed to move to North America, play in Quebec, learn english, etc. He was a bit of a hot dog, but that was really the only "character flaw" anyone saw.
