At this point, I wouldn't do it. But, Briere needs to be moved to the wing next season. He may not produce as much, but he'll be much less of a defensive liability.

Doesn't Briere have 3 years left compared to J-Bo's 2? Danny is only going to get worse defensively. I would take this deal, but I would still want to add another big d man to pair with Kimmo. His 50 points would need to be replaced but I don't think its unreasonable to believe Couts and Schenn could pick up the majority of those in his time.

There would definitely be places for briere, I think Colorado with all their young players could use leadership, but the biggest thing with him is if he would waive his clause or not, I don't think he does he loves it here

I always thought he was happy here (plus he has kids in school), but who knows for sure. Danny-B moving out west could help his game and give him a chance to be a huge leader just as you said. Colorado has a lot of pieces they could trade and have the cap space to build.

As for J-Bo, I wouldn't mind him coming here either if we can make the cap work and we don't have to pay a lot to get him here - especially if we don't end up getting any other free agent D.

Because he's responsible for more goals for than against.

Nope.....well, maybe, but I do wish Bouwmeester was meaner and I hate losing Briere in the play offs. Guy is a menace.
