Drabek to have his 2nd TJ surgery in his young career. Really never saw the hype in this guy, and definitely didn't think he was center piece worthy in a deal for Doc.

When I'd first heard about how Tommy John surgery I thought it would be a breakthrough medically for years to come. After all the numerous TJ surgeries we've seen per guy over the last few years, I'm starting to have serious doubts about its effectiveness with the exception of a minority of cases.

It's not unheard of for players to come back stronger and better post surgery. It just takes a while to regain full accuracey/control.

That, and I don't think there is an alternative to the surgery, aside from basically retiring.

Why is bum Stewart starting? And if they insist on using such a ****** pitcher, why would you match him vs the 1 or 2 of your opponent?

Teams don't matchup pitchers at this point in the season, that stops after the first few weeks...

Zach Stewart is not a major league pitcher, please send him down to the minors or DFA him.

I understand wanting to give Peavy an extra day off and Sale an extra 2, but **** does Stewart blow.

should probably do it when you're starting a guy who sucks as a relief pitcher. But hey Ventura loves giving games away with horrible roster management.

The Sox have nothing to give up to improve their pitching staff. It is looking more and more like they had their yearly hot streak and are fading as they usually do. They'll probably have a short lived hot streak before the deadline, decide to keep things as is and then tank immediately afterwards. That has been their MO for a few years now.

My buddy refers to Ventura as Robin Bevington, think he might be onto something.

So rumor is the Bulls may be interested in trading Deng to Toronto or Golden State for their lottery pick

trading deng woulda been cool like 3 years ago. now they want to move him for a pick? lol. package deng and noah up and get a guy you know is capable of taking some pressure off rose. Don't trade deng and hope you get a guy any better.

I think it's less 'let's get better' and more 'next year is shot, may as well get younger'. And if you dump Deng you'll have some money to spend without getting into luxury tax

If they dump Deng they will have Boozer and a bunch of bench players for most of year

Who is #1 in 2013 NBA draft projections?

Cause without Rose , No Deng and Boozer leading the show the Bulls are gonna be awful

If the Bulls want to realistically be a title contender while Rose is still around and in his prime, that's what they need to do: tank a year and get another stud. That's just how it is in the NBA.

Especially to keep up with a very young Thunder team who I have no doubts will win a tittle very soon. (possibly this finals) Bulls are making the right decision. Deng was going to be out a while anyways holding off his wrist surgery. They have too many injury prone guys on that team (not to mention lack of athleticism).

Got a feeling you'll see another one tomorrow. Have fun taking BP against Floyd.

EDIT: Check that, Peavy tomorrow.

Really? Is that what the Mavs did, the Heat, Lakers, Celtics? Non of those teams purposfully busted with great talent and hoped to win. You sign or trade for a player who can be the #2 to Roses #1 and go with that. This team was a healthy Derrick Rose from competing for a title.
