6/18 NHL Tonight (NHL Network)

They've been covering teams throughout June looking at what they need for draft/free agency.

Sharks will be covered today, including a discussion with DW.

4pm (new) plus lots of repeats.

Summary of DW said:

Pretty solid at the blue-line with 3 lefties and 4 righties
Good at center, so they're looking at the wings
Todd McLellan is the right guy, but they are looking to add to the staff
Niemi played pretty well, but not as well as he (Niemi) would have hoped
Feels they have a good set of young-guns that will compete for spots (highlighted Wingels and Braun)

Button loves Marleau.
Other dude wants Sharks to draft Tom Wilson.

No thanks. We don't need these POWER FORWARD projects.

They need to get faster. It seems like they couldn't keep up with the dominant teams in the league and speed was a big issue. I still don't like the fact that they're keeping McLellan, but hopefully they do something speed related and to maybe add more depth to the blue line. After last season, they need to do something.

I like how DW says Sharks are loaded at Center with 5 natural Centers in Thornton, Marleau, Pavelski, Couture, and Dejardins. No mention of Handzus. Wonder how they are going to be able to get rid of his contract for next year.

That's a good point. He didn't mention Moore because of the UFA status, but not mentioning Handzus is a bit interesting.

I kind of miss Pete Loubardias calling Flames games. He wasn't very good, but I loved mocking his goal calls.

Is he the "he skewers" goal-call guy?
