not a bad offer but the Rangers are looking for a top 6 LW back in a Dubi package deal

Not necessarily true, they're looking for a top 6 LW but it doesn't have to be a Dubi swap.

Wow ,, Overpayment bigtime by Hawks

And the Rangers dont need anymore D ,, That is there team strength

A 3 team deal would make more sense with a team like Sens (Or Isles if the Rangers are ok with trading within division)

To Hawks - Dubinsky
To Sens - Hjalmarsson
To Rangers - ? from Sens

I don't think the Rangers are in need of D. Maybe the make this deal if they are also planning on trading a defensman or two to get nash or someone.

Bobby Butler.

But no, seriously, I don't know what the Rangers would want in such a deal. Rangers fans, we took you to 7 games, you saw the team. What's the price?

We need D, just not a lot of it. Stralman won't be back, Sauer is out for who knows how long, Bickel is ok but could be improved on. Basically the only givens are Staal, Girardi, McDonagh, and MDZ. Erixon is probably ready but we could always use another NHL D-man.

Olsen to NYR
Dubinsky to Hawks

Rangers clear a ton of cap room (To go after Nash or whoever) , Hawks get #2 C who is coming off a down year

I don't know a lot about Olsen but you might be on to something, go ahead and throw in three 1st rounders

Is it just me, or should the Rangers be adding to Duby to get Hjammer...or at the very least straight up.

Its not just you

Hammer for Dubinsky is fair value wise (Especially give the cap hit of Dubinsky and the year he is coming off of)

Olsen would be our 5th on our LHD depth chart. Dubinsky's value is low, but it's not that low. Rangers aren't going to trade him for the sake of trading him.

I would do that as long as the pick is this Friday.

I believe it's the 18th overall selection?

Nik is 25, plays a solid defensive game and can be paired with Del Zotto.

I would then try to flip both the 18th and 28th picks to move up to the top 10 if possible.

It wouldn't be just about the depth chart, it would also be about price and potential.

Like was mentioned earlier we don't need a bunch of D if we do acquire one they need to have experience Hjalmarsson fits better than Olsen. If it were Olsen CHI would have to add, just not sure how much and what.

They qualifies Stralman. He may not accept it, but then again, he may.

That's the type of terrible trade Bowman could do.

Easily done. Fits our needs and yours. The first is probably a more valuable trading chip to some teams (who don't need a C/LW like Dubi) and we could use Hammer on a pairing with Del Z.

Don't want Dubinsky with that contract. Too big of a Frolik-like risk.

Does Hjalmarsson play the right side? Rangers really need a Dman to play on the right side on the second and third pairings.

Yes it would, which is why he'd be 5th on the depth chart, IMO. Certainly would not be put ahead of McDonagh, Staal, or Del Zotto. That would leave Erixon, who I feel is a better option as well.

The Rangers don't need a project for Dubinsky unless it fills a position of need.

Yeah but as it's been rumored his family wants to go to back to Sweden.

I've proposed something similar to this for nearly a year though mine was Dubi + X for Olsen + McNeil.

Olsen LOOKS LIKE he'll be a solid, tough bottom pair D w/upside to 2nd pair. Still has some development needed, bot not a whole year. A late 1st. ELC, I think.

Dubi is later rounder, 3rd line min, top 6, cah help out top line in pinch. A bit high salary.

Still think this is mostly good, but could be fine tuned.
