Tor - Det

Franzen
Kindl
Emmerton
Ferraro
Det 1st 2013
Det 6th

Kessel
Schenn
Future considerations

The Maple Leafs need to add some center depth and playoff experience to their roster. Franzen is a beast in the playoffs and Emmerton is a strong 4th line center. Kindl is a top 4 defenseman on most teams in the league and is going to be a stud. There is just no room for him in Detroit (same situation as Emmerton). Franzen needs a change of scenery to boost his game. His game doesn't fit the Detroit style and fits the style of play Brian Burke is trying to bring to Toronto. The bigger the bodies the better for them. Ferraro is a prospect with top notch speed and the 6th round draft pick could be anything. The 1st round pick makes the deal too hard to pass.

The Wings get a hard hitting defenseman in Schenn that they are in need of and add a little bit of speed to the wing. A good new look for both teams. Leafs add a 1st line playoff warrior that can show them the ropes, a decent centerman, a top 4 D, a blue chip prospect, a 1st round pick, and a 6th for Kessel (top line winger) and Schenn ( #5 D on the Wings). Great for both teams.

TO doesn't need center depth, they need a #1 center. Toronto doesn't even touch this at all.

All Holland hears is the click when Burke hangs up.

Switch out Emmerton for Abdelkader and then it's fair?

They still laugh in your face at this. You've provided them with no incentive to trade not only Kessel, but Kessel AND Schenn.

That downgrades it from Fukushima-level "bad" to Chernobyl-level "bad".

I think you are underestimating the value of Franzen, Kindl, the 1st rounder, and the 6th. But fine... no future considerations toward Detroit.

Not even just centers, Toronto literally has no first line if they do this trade.

Stop while you're still higher than absolute 0.

Franzen is a 32 year old second liner who's only getting worse. Kindl is a second pairing defenseman, something Toronto already has plenty of, and the first rounder is probably going to be in the 20's. And a 6th rounder? It's essentially worth nothing.

Meanwhile you're asking for a 24 year old who already has four straight 30-goal seasons, and a potential #2-3 defenseman (who is already better than Kindl, and is three years younger)

I'd consider it... it's maybe one or two pieces off. How about this then:

Kessel
Schenn

Franzen
Abdelkader
Kindl
Pulkkinen
Ferraro
Det 1st 2013
Det 6th
Future considerations

Now you're adding even more talent, draft picks, and top line prospects to a rebuilding team. It can't be turned down now.

Not enough coming from Detroit, I want even more smaller pieces going to Toronto please.

Me thinks OP is trying to troll the Leafs. Seems kinda similar to the MacArthur, Gunnarsson, Holzer and a 2nd for (insert first line center here).

Obviously this deal is horrible for the Leafs, Kessel is far and away the best player in the deal, and they give up Schenn as well?

I would be absolutely fine seeing Kessel go for a decent return but a younger top 6 with heart would need to be in a quantity laced package.
