Not terrible, although I'd worry that Glencross would be less effective were his role reduced somewhat in Los Angeles.

I am not sold on Voynov. He looked weak in the his own end in the playoffs. I think trading Voynov actually makes sense.
To the Glencross proposal: Sutter is huge on Glencross, and rightfully so. The guy is a warrior on a good contract. He would add some much needed speed.

If you want to trade a 22 year old promising PMD because he looked weak at times in the NHL playoffs, I'll gladly take advantage of you- I mean, see what we can work out...

Voynov did look weak, but he was stellar for us in the regular season and I think he deserves a little slack given that he was a rookie right out of the AHL just a few months before trying to endure a run at the cup and being relied on as a top 4 PMD.

I don't mind the prospect of acquiring Glencross. I am not sure I would want to move Bernier for him, but he could be a reasonable addition to the roster. I am not sure there is room for him through. He doesn't belong on the fourth line and I think Dwight King could match him offensively on the third line, which leaves the second line if Gagne isn't up to par, and we really need a proven threat up there.

There is room to maneuver if we were talking about Parise, but Glencross doesn't really have a surefire slot in the lineup:

Brown-Kopitar-Williams
Gagne-Richards-Carter
King-Stoll-Lewis
Clifford-Fraser-Nolan

Assuming the likely re-signing of Stoll and Fraser of course.

If gagne gets hurt again, or is not 100% than I am a big fan of glencross.

Right, but it is a high price to pay for an insurance policy when we can just re-sign Penner who has publicly said he would take less to stay. I would rather re-sign him and then send Bernier away for a pick if he was being acquired merely to compete with Gagne. The problem is he isn't a definitive upgrade.

Assuming we sign Parise, then we obviously don't re-sign Penner or Stoll, this is how our lineup should look (If we re-sign Colin Fraser):

Parise-Kopitar-Williams
Gagne-Carter-Brown
King-Richards-Lewis
Clifford-Cliche/Fraser-Nolan

This is a solid lineup

I think he was rushed and not utilized correctly. I think we could turn him into a good two way player. I would be more comfortable paying Hickey for him, but I would entertain offering Bernier too, depending on how things go this offseason. MPS has the basic skillset we need, just needs to be developed and restructured under a new foundation. His skating and hands are there though.

God now from LA. Value maybe fair as I know Bernier is unproven in a #1 role, but I am not a fan of Paajarvi. Plus aren;t most Oiler fans happy to give Dubynk a decent shot? I think his numbers sugest he sould be given one.

Maybe a change of scenery would benefit him, and I like his speed, but I'd rather see the Kings make offers to some big free agents (Jagr, Parise?) and focus on retaining Penner.

Although it depends on what the "+" is.

No chance on Jagr. He will stay in the east. I don't think he could handle the Kings travel schedule anyway.
LA has been champs for a week now, and I still have goosebumps.
There is a vidoe on lakingsinsider.com that is amazing.

If Penner resigns, the Kings have a LOT of options on the left wing.

Brown - Kopitar - Williams
Gagne - Richards - Carter
King - Stoll - Lewis
Clifford - Fraser - Nolan

That's not even with Penner.

What?! Absolutely not to trading Voynov....He was a Rookie playing a ton of minutes in the grind of the playoffs...In fact, almost all feedback i have heard from those who matter have had nothing but praise for him....Voynov is a special kid and player....No way we trade him....not a chance

This.

And the Kings really have no need to start trading assets for a top LW right now.

Brown/Gagne/Penner/King.

King proved to have the hands, vision, and ability to mold into a top 6 power forward.

I think The Kings will make a moderate push for Parise, but for once, they are not in desperation mode.

Look for them to dangle Loktionov before Bernier as well. I would say picks are what they are looking for.

This is absolutely crazy. Trade Voynov? The guy is a rookie PMD with a ton of upside and you're ready to trade him because he wasn't perfect defensively in the playoffs? Voynov is a huge part of our defense moving forward, zero chance he gets moved.
