I love how we can just take all these guys and that we need to add two top-4 d-men. Did Tamby and co. forget that they've already got 7 d-men signed for next season(if they qualify Peckham, which I don't know why they wouldn't).

The thing is that it has been shot down by everyone outside of EDM. TOR would not be trading a supposed untouchable to move up 4 spots when what they really need is a big center.

TO is not going to give Gardiner and the 5th for the 1st.

Potter doesn't have to be in the NHL

Martin has a NMC and I believe Orpik has a NTC. Keep that in mind.

Potter or Peckham could end up being dealt or sent to the minors. We have 7 guys sure, but not many can play top 4.

Alright, that's one spot. Where are the other 2 coming from?

Keep in mind we can pretty much send anyone to the minors but we also have a 50 contract limit.

No but this just brings up my point in the Petrell signing thread. We were a 29th place team yet we seem keen on bringing everyone back from last season and filling the roster that way.

Maybe the plan is top play top 4 guys on the bottom pairing as well?

Sutton also more than likely plays a lessor role. He wasn't suppose to play all the games last year, but instead of being a healthy scratch he was suspended.

We need d, we can't be complaining that we have too many ****** d to bring in someone better.

How do does bringing in an outside d-man equal us bringing back all the same players?

Draft Day Proposals.

Montreal certainly doesn't mind a Russian superstar. They need to add some offensive flair to their popgun offense.

Montreal: gets #1 from Edmonton.
Edmonton: gets #3 from Montreal, Montreal's 2nd round pick and Yannick Weber.

Edmonton trades Linus Omark to Columbus on the condition that CBJ does not draft Ryan Murray

Montreal drafts Nail Yakupov at #1.
Columbus drafts Alex Galchenyuk or Filip Forsberg at #2.
Edmonton drafts Ryan Murray at #3.

11 points in 32 games w/ Nashville last year. I don't know if i like this trade either? What's his upside? Dan Boyle? Low end? MAB?

We would have a 2nd line center issue unless they convert Hall into a center...

Draft Day Proposal #2.

Stu starts pulling his hair out as he sees a player drop through the draft until Tambellini succumbs. Realizing he has too many defenders and contracts, he decides to streamline.

Tampa Bay gets Sam Gagner. plus Theo Peckham
Edmonton Oilers gets Tampa Bay #10 overall pick.

Edmonton Oilers draft Mikael Grigorenko at #10.

I know that and you know that. But for some reason the Oiler management REALLY REALLY REALLY likes Murray. On the assumption that they WILL draft Murray, this trade is based on getting value for Yakupov.
